"Let's review. How do you say goodbye?" Lucian asked you. When you became the new champion of the Sinnoh Pokemon Leauge, Lucian felt like you needed to 'expand your horizons' on the world. And so here you were at Lucian's house, wasting this sunny day learning French.
You grumble to yourself and puff out your cheeks. "I don't know." You mumble. Lucian sighed. You were impossible to teach.
"Au revoir, (y/n), au revoir." Lucian said with his calm, soothing voice. He tried to remain calm at all times, but you could see right through him that he was almost about to fail. Lucian facepalmed himself. You mentally laughed knowing you made him crack.
"You really are impossible." Lucian stated. You scoffed at the remark.
"I tried to warn you." That was the best rebuttal you could think of. Lucian chuckled.
"And you are staying here until you learn some sort of phrase, (y/n)" Lucian countered. You sighed as your gaze shifted toward the window. Lucians eyes followed yours.
"Beautiful day, isn't it?" Lucian asked. You nodded your head in response. "And just think, if you would pay attention to this lesson you could spend the rest of the day outside with your Pokemon." Lucian teased.
"Tais-toi!" You snapped at him. The only phrase in French you would ever bother to learn is 'Shut Up.' It's also coincidentally the most useful one, in your opinion. All Lucian could do is roll his eyes.
"Of all the things I taught you, shut up is the only thing that sticks in your head?" Lucian asks.
"You act like you're surprised." You reply, leaning back in your chair. "Now I do remember we have a deal. I learn a phrase in French, you let me leave." A smug grin was plastered on your face. But Lucian wasn't about to let you go that easy.
"That was only two words. I want to hear three complete words." Lucian returned your grin sarcastically.
"Tais-toi, imbécile." You say to Lucian. He raises his eyebrows.
"Wow, you added idiot to your phrase. How original." Lucian leans forward in his chair, his face getting dangerously close to yours. "Now then, how useful will "Shut up, idiot" be if you want to have a conversation with someone that only speaks French?" He stays in the same position, not budging an inch. You shift awkwardly in your chair, trying to think up something to counter what he said.
"Very useful." Is all you are able to squeak out before his right hand gracefully lifts up your chin, where your lips are almost touching.
"Well then, (y/n). Do you know what phrase I find very useful?" Lucian doesn't even await your response. "Je t'aime, (y/n)." You didn't even need an explanation to know what this meant. His lips swiftly met yours. Lucian tasted like elegance, and you didn't care what anyone thought because it definitely was a flavor. His lips were smooth like silk and soft like velvet.
Your lips both parted to catch a breath of air. You rested your head on his chest and breathed in the scent of Lucian's cologne. He smelt classy and comforting, just like his personality.
"Je t'aime, Lucian." You spoke to him, and he chuckled.
After a few minutes of resting on his chest, Lucian broke the silence. "Now do you like our French lessons, (y/n)?"
