Jim shook his head as he walked back up the staircase after talking to Dwight. He was so, so crazy for Angela, and not having her was killing him. Jim remembered those days. Everything Pam did caused Jim to fall a little bit more in love with her. Of course, this was still true, but they were together now. It was different when she was engaged. Although he tried not to, Jim found himself remembering Casino night, when he almost lost Pam forever. He walked into the office that night after laying it all on the line to find Pam sitting on his desk, like she had done so many times before, using his phone, though she quickly hung up when he walked in. She may have started to say something to him, but Jim couldn't focus on anything other than what he was about to do: kiss her. He put his hands on her waist, the silk of her dress practically melting against his fingers, and pressed his mouth against hers passionately, careful not to hurt her, as if she was glass in his hands that would easily shatter if handled improperly. He kissed her, and she kissed him back, but when she pulled away, he knew nothing would change. She went home to Roy that night, and he packed to go away from Scranton, to Stamford, as if running away would fix his broken heart, then getting another girlfriend as if Karen could fill the hole she had created deep in his being. When he walked back into Dunder Mifflin after his conversation with Dwight, he returned to reality. Pam caught his eye and smiled, and it was a full, joyous smile. It reached her eyes, and that was something he had only recently started seeing. she had started wearing her hair in loose curls around her face, and she laughed more often. He paced towards her.

"Hey, so I was thinking for dinner tonight, we could try that new Italian place-"

Jim cut her off, and he knew it was rude, and he knew they generally didn't participate in PDA, especially not at work, but he couldn't stop himself. He put his hands on the side of her face and pulled her closer, kissing her just as he had on casino night, but this time it was different. This time, she was his. He pulled back much sooner than he would've liked to; this was still the office, and the cameras were still filming, even if he couldn't see them. He was sure that the film crew had caught their smooch, but he didn't care. Pam was his, and he would scream it from the rooftops if she would let him. So what if one little kiss made it onto the documentary? It was about the paper company, not their romance, right? A little while later, a member of the documentary crew pulled him into the conference room for an interview. They played back the recording of their embrace for Jim, and then turned to him.

"Pam said that the cause of all this was your passion for Italian food. Is that true?"

"Oh, yeah, I'm really passionate about Italian food. In fact, I'm in love with Italian food."
