You Save Me
Being afraid of someone is usually pretty stupid, but that depends on the person. Or it could be a fear of something like thunder, or the dark. Everyone says to face the fears you have, but in my case… You should be afraid.
My friends call me Bruce, unless the 'other guy' is on a rage, then it's Hulk. I guess you shouldn't really be afraid of me, but you should be of the 'other guy'. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Monsters inside me". Everyone who thinks they have a monster inside them should try walking in my shoes.
The key is not to get my heart rate up, or get too over emotional about anything, and most importantly to stay angry. You don't have to necessarily act angry just feel the anger all the time, it helps keep the monster inside instead of coming outside. I try my best to be nice to people, but if they get me too angry, I can't help what the 'other guy' might do.
I haven't had an incident in a while, because I joined S.H.I.E.L.D. Ever since then, my life hasn't been too bad. I joined a team of 'super heroes' called the Avengers, and I got to meet Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, and his girlfriend Aimee. That's how I met Mirny.
Mirny was a young girl Nick Fury 'hired' from the Cherokee reservation. The term hired is more like 'bribed her after the death of her father'. She came to SH.I.E.L.D. because of her unique ability to control emotions, and she was assigned to look after the big guy, Yeah that's me. She was trained by Hawkeye's girlfriend, Aimee, and was eventually adopted.
One thing I learned about Mirny, if you let her shoot a gun it will somehow end up hitting Hawkeye. At first I thought Aimee had done something to the bullets or the gun, but after getting hit over a hundred times… I think it's just her luck. I also think that's one of the reasons Aimee adopted her.
Aimee kept begging Nick Fury not to let her 'daughter' anywhere near me, but that's the whole reason Mirny was sent here. Aimee kept trying to talk her out of it by telling her horror stories about my Hulk outs, but she wasn't the least bit afraid. In fact she was excited to be working with me, and she enjoyed being around me.
Mirny was about 4'11 in height and she was a little twig. I guess that's how she was raised in the reservation. She always had a nice smile on her face when she walked into my lab, and she would always ask me about my day and what my favorite things were. I never thought I would feel the way I do now.
There's been more than one occasion where she has fallen asleep on my lab floor and I would have to carry her back to her room and tuck her back into her bed. She was always so cute just laying on the floor with her black hair hanging in her face, and her body usually curled into a ball. Her position usually made it easier to pick her up bridal style, and carry her back.
Another part of being close to Mirny are the threats I get from Aimee. She is usually saying how many times she will shoot me or try to chop various parts off my body off. Yeah, like that is gonna work if the 'other guy' decides to eat her for breakfast. That's only if I hurt Mirny which I have NO intention of doing.
Well, that sums up a little bit about how I got to where I am today, but trust me this is only the beginning.
