Chapter 3

My head started to hurt. Camp Half-Blood? Before I could ask any more questions, Bubba put two fingers in his mouth and whistled a sharp, low tune. I could barely hear it. Near my right, a bush rustled. What I saw next surprised me.

A boy, a little older than me, stepped out into the clearing. I looked around for my fellow classmates. They had somehow all vanished, though it worried me little. Good riddance.

The boy had spiky black hair, dark complexion, and dark green eyes with small hints of purple. The gray hoodie he wore was pulled of an orange T-shirt. His navy blue jeans and dirt and a dark liquid stain on them. Blood? I couldn't be sure. Along his belt line, he had a pretty array of hunting knives that were dark purple. "Hey." He said, his voice raspy. I only nodded in reply. This guy looked a little…off.

"So, what's Camp Half-Blood exactly?" I repeated. Bubba glared at me. "Let Jeremy explain it to you." He stated, pointing towards the boy. Jeremy stepped forward. "Camp Half-Blood is basically a safe haven for all demi-gods. A demi-god is half human, half god. Once you cross the borders, we will place you in the Hermes cabin until you are claimed by your godly parent. Each of the 12 Olympian gods have their own cabin. Your godly parent will depend on your mortal parent. We will have someone show you around camp. Any questions?" he ended, kind of rudely. Truth be told, I had many, but I kept them too myself. Why am I a demi- god? "Will I have to leave my father?" "Yes." The trio said simultaneously. I hadn't realized I said that out loud. I was actually kind of happy that I would be leaving. My father meant nothing to me, anyways.

"When do we leave?" Lucy spoke up. We all looked at Bubba.

"Now."

~A few hours later~

I sighed and set down on a near by log. We had been walking around aimlessly in the woods for hours. I was exhausted, hungry, and hurting all over. Was this "camp" really worth all of this?

"I'm hungry." I stated to know one in particular. "Deal with it." Jeremy stated, with a mean under tone, "What did I ever do to you?" I asked. I had barely talked to him the whole way here. "It's your fault we had to come all the way down here." He said, with a said look on his face. "Why?' I asked again. "Do you ever shut up? My father, Dionysus, sent me here alond with Bubba, to find another demi-god. He had earlier sent his satyr, Lucy, to protect you until we were able to come." Quietly I sat for a few minutes, taking it all in.

"So," I started," When do we get food?"

I was met with death glares.
