The sun I his eyes was the first thing Ranmaru was aware of that morning. The second thing was that Kei was not in bed, he sat up looked around, searching for Kei, not finding him he called "Kei?" 'It's not like him to leave without telling me.' Ranmaru pulled on one of Kei's shirts. He went to the kitchen, and found a note on the fridge that said going to see an old friend-Kei. 'What friend' he wondered, but he merely shrugged it off and went on with his day as usual. Only it wasn't normal, usually Kei would be there in the background of the dojo or at work.
It very unusual for him not to know where he is. Ranmaru was starting to get worried by 5:30 that was the time that Kei usually came home from work. He was getting more worried by the second. Then at exactly 5"32 Kei walked into the dojo.
"You were worried weren't you?"
Ranmaru stamped over to him without answering.
"Are you mad? I left a note." Kei asked.
"You always wake me when you leave. Why didn't you wake me?"
Kei sighed, walked around him, to sit against the wall and sighed again.
"Ranmaru that friend that I went to see, well he wasn't a friend, he's my banker." He paused thinking how to phase the next sentence when Ranmaru started talking.
"What a banker? What did he want? Is there a problem with your account?"
"No, no, its nothing like that, its just… im… well… He told me im now a millionaire." Silence that was all that followed the end of the sentence.
"What, how can you be a millionaire?" Kei sighed again.
"It seems that my mother had a brother she never told me about, whose filthy rich. He died last week and left me everything." Ranmaru blinked rapidly for a few seconds, but before he could say anything else, his father, sister and grandfather walked in.
"Oh we're sorry, did we interrupt anything?"
Kei stood, walked pasted Ranmaru to leave and said "No" before walking out.
Yuke made a face then asked Ranmaru "What's going on? Did you too fight?"
