I'll Always Be With You
Artemis had tears in her eyes. "Artemis I want you to have this," Percy said. He reached out to where she was sitting. He struggled to even lift his arm out to her. His body was limp.
He opened his hand and in it was a silver necklace, with a sea green gem. "Artemis, as long as you have it I will always be with you."
Percy's limp body was paling. "I love you Percy."
Percy tried to smile. "I love you too. Good bye."
Percy became silent. Artemis shut his eyelids and started to cry. "Why?" she shouted out. The boy who had opened her heart was dead and there was nothing she could do.
...
It had been 200 years since Percy had died. Artemis spent all her time hunting monsters. Not a day had gone by that she didn't think about him.
Artemis was practicing archery. She fired arrow after arrow rapidly with great precision. She felt a prescence in the quiet Mississippi forest. She notched an arrow and turned around. She was face to face with a person and quickly aimed the bow at his head.
"Woah sis!" It was her idiot brother Apollo.
"Don't sneak up on me like that." The scent of the pines calmed her.
"Sor-ry," Apollo said with emphasis on the 'ry'.
"Look Artemis, you have to let him go. You can't spend forever like this. Perseus wouldn't want you to be like this."
She knew he was right. She had to let Percy go.
"I know you're right. It's hard."
"You know what you need to do," Apollo said.
She flashed out. She was now on a Long Island beach. The smell of the sea reminded her of Percy.
She began speaking. "Percy. I love you. Not a day goes by that I don't miss you, nor will there ever be. But I need to say goodbye. You wouldn't want me to live like this."
Artemis felt a sensation on her chest. The amulet was glowing. Artemis grabbed the amulet and ripped it off her neck. She pulled her arm back and threw it as far as she could. The amulet began to sink. "Good bye Percy."
Artemis turned away and began to walk, but something compelled her to turn around. She saw foaming where the necklace sank. A ghostly figure arose from the foam and came towards her. It was Percy!
His eyes were closed. He came to Artemis. She tried to hug him but fell through his body. She got up and dusted the sand off her clothes. Percy opened his eyes. His eyes were glowing like the amulet. "Artemis, I love you."
For one lonely moment in time Percy materialised and caressed her head. He leaned in and kissed her. When their lips collided, Percy disapeared into the wind.
In his place sat the amulet. "Percy I love you. I'll never forget you."
The amulet began glowing again. A voice inside her head said, You'll never forget me because I'll always be with you.
A/N Short and sweet one-shot. Pertemis is my favorite couple to write about. I almost have the next chapter in I'll Catch You finished... for two weeks. I'll probably write the last dialogue scene tonight and send it to my beta. I have had 4 ideas for fics recently, along with I'll Catch You. One is the other one-shot I made about Preyna, this, a multichapter-OC based fic as a side story for I'll Catch You (takes place in the same universe too! Remember Emily from the deleted first chapter and the new first chapter?), and a small multi-chapter Preyna fic.
