Six-year-old Fred Weasley was running around chasing his twin brother George, they were both playing a game of tag with their training wands. Their father, Arthur, watched on from the family living area as he sat to read an old book about Muggles. His wife Molly and his three older sons were shopping at Hogesmade, while Arthur was stuck at home to take care of the youngest boys in the family of seven. He suddenly could hear one of the boy's crying, he wasn't quite sure if it was Fred and George. He ran outside and saw Fred sitting in the tall grass, his left knee was elevated as well as bleeding pretty badly. Arthur picked up Fred and allowed him to cry onto his shoulder.
"What's all this?" Arthur asked as he massaged Fred's back
"We were only trying to cast some spells that you taught us." George said innocently
"Now I told you boys not to use any kind of spell unless it was a beginner's spell and you knew it back to front!" Arthur scolded
"Sorry dad...Sorry Fred." George apologized
Arthur carried Fred into the burrow and placed him on the kitchen table and examined his knee, he smiled and wiped Fred's tears away.
"Don't worry, son. I'll fix you up in one snap of the fingers." Arthur assured as he began to run the family sink, he grabbed a cloth and letted it soak in the cold water.
"Now, I want you to sit still for a moment." Arthur ordered as he grabbed the cloth and began to clean up Fred's knee
Fred winced as Arthur washed the blood off his knee and then wrapped a bandage around it, the throbbing pain was starting to go away and it was finally gone as Arthur sealed the bandage.
"There you go." Arthur announced
"Dad..." Fred began "Do you think wizards ever die?"
"That's a pretty strange question to ask." Arthur chuckled as he lifted Fred off the table
"It's just that every Muggle dies eventually...Do we ever die?" Fred asked
"Come sit with me." Arthur ordered in a sweet voice, he sat down in a chair and Fred sat on his knee
"Muggles are very fascinating, but they aren't perfect. They all have to take the next journey eventually. So do we...I don't understand why we may last longer than Muggles, I suppose that's just the way everyone was made. Why did you ask me about this?" Arthur asked after his explanation
"It's just I was thinking just a few seconds ago since I got my knee scraped, I guess that makes us part Muggle." Fred said with a shrug of the shoulders
"Maybe...No one really knows. All I know is that you are going to be around for a very long time." Arthur smiled
"I can't wait to go to Hogwarts like Bill and Charlie! I'll get an actual wand and I'll become the best wizard in all of the world!" Fred cried
"Not to mention you'll be the talk amongst ladies." Arthur added
"I'll also get maried and have a big family just like you and Mummy." Fred vowed
"Not worried anymore?" Arthur asked
"No daddy." Fred shook his head and hugged Arthur
"No need to in the first place. You'll live for one thousand years and beyond." Arthur vowed as he let Fred out of his lap.
"Promise?" Fred asked
"I promise." Arthur swore
Fred ran back outside as Arthur watched from the window with a smile on his face, he felt incredibly blessed knowing that all of his children were safe and sound and were happy. He knew it would stay like this for a very long time. Fred had the same feeling, after all, nothing could ever stop him from living. Not even a small cut on his knee.
