This was my answer to the challenge of a friend during Geography. It was only later that I realised that my rhyming pattern was wrong.
*I don't own the characters, I own the… um….*

Sorting Hat Song
Some people may think I'm just a hat,
But in truth, I'm more than just that.
If you want to know how I came to be,
A brilliant story I will relay to thee.
A thousand or more years ago,
Came four great people who could sew.
Magical powers, they all bore,
For wizards they were, all four.
Honest Hufflepuff, humble and jolly,
Loved to gather fruit and holly.
She was loyal and loved her friends,
And always protected them to no ends.
Sweet Ravenclaw, wise and fair,
Was one of a kind, her beauty was so rare.
Spells and potions, she invented,
And wands and cauldrons, she also mended.
Cunning Slytherin, clever and sly,
Could brew a deadly potion at the blink of an eye.
Dangerous to the enemy, that one was,
Stealthy and slippery, even from behind closed doors.
And finally, Gryffindor, valiant and brave,
Would be remembered forever, even in his grave.
He fought hard battles without a fear,
Wielding his wand and never shedding a tear.
When the four departed they left me,
To tell you what house in which you'll be.
So put me on, don't be afraid to do that,
For I won't hurt you, I'm the Hogwarts' Sorting Hat!
