From the domestic meme and this operates under the idea that 'Hoodie and Masky' and 'Brian and Tim' are different personas altogether.
Disclaimer: I don't own Slenderman or Marble Hornets and its characters.
Waking Up Side by Side
It was warm.
That was how Masky knew he was okay.
The warmth that told him he wasn't alone and that meant he was okay.
A subconscious smile pulled at his lips as he blearily blinked his eyes open. He shifted minutely, raising his head slightly before ducking it down when the morning sun proved too bright through the split in their window curtains. It didn't matter too much, he simply buried his head into his partner's chest.
He was up an hour earlier anyway.
It had become a habit even before the idea of sleep became a luxury.
He remembered nights in the woods of Rosswood Park, winter chill seeping into his bones with no warmth to speak of. Even when it was Tim who went to sleep and woke up, they would be alone. It had been that way for so long that Masky hadn't really thought twice about it, only knew that it was… 'lonely'.
Masky liked to sleep back then, tucked away in the back of Tim's mind, unable to be 'lonely' until The Operator returned to terrorize them.
Then after Marble Hornets and Alex Kralie… Masky found he wasn't alone anymore.
And he was glad. Guilty for the hell descending on Tim's circle of friends and acquaintances, but glad. Because he got Hoodie.
And Hoodie made everything bearable. More than that eventually, but Masky learned what 'not lonely' was like.
The nights in the woods, in miserable half-ruined shacks, were still cold but not as much as before Hoodie showed up. They would curl up in their Operator-imposed isolation and attempt to get as much sleep as possible. And Masky liked to wake up and feel someone next to him.
Masky felt the rise and fall of Hoodie's chest and tightened his grip on the yellow hoodie he wore. The warmth from back then was just as satisfying now. The soft blankets paled in comparison to his partner's arm wrapped securely around him, keeping him tucked in close.
Masky had learned to wake up early in order to consciously enjoy Hoodie's physical comfort. Now years later, proxies of Slender and partners in absolutely everything, he still woke up before Hoodie in order to enjoy the peace and warmth of his partner next to him.
As Hoodie shifted, Masky blinked and rose his head, smiling at his sleepy-eyed partner. Hoodie stared at him for a moment, before shaking the sleep away and grinning. Hoodie leaned forward and kissed him, breathing a soft good morning as they parted and let his head hit the pillow again with a yawn.
Masky nuzzled into Hoodie's neck happily, enjoying the feeling of fingers beginning to run across his scalp. Masky loved to doze the time away with his sleeping partner but spending time with awake-Hoodie was so much better!
