My face got red with anger. I have never heard someone speak of me that way especially someone you just met.
"You got a nerve speaking about me like that and you dont even know me" I said stepping closer to him.
"You got a mansion, money and things people would die for, not to mention a fiancé"
"I would rather trade everything I have just to have a normal life like you"
"Say what you say but the reality is , you will never have a normal life, you dont know what it is to work for something like the rest of us , you will always have the easy way out."
He was right after all; it was like he had read my life story like a book. The past, the present and the future. I was stuck in this life and there was nothing I could do. I had everything but yet to me it seems so much like nothing. But was it worth having everything and not being happy.
I woke up in my room the next day and sat up in bed. I had no idea how I got there; all I could remember was ditching Nicholas and running into Joe. I sat up in my bed and then I noticed that I wasnt the only one in here. I could hear soft whimpering and when I looked around the room, I caught sight of a girl, dressed in full black with her head in her hands. I went closer to her and then I realized it was Selena.
"Im losing my best friend "she said and then broke down crying harder than before. I stooped down right in front of her and she looked up at me through her red puffy eyes.
"Selena, your not-"
"Dont say that," she said and turned her head away from me looking at the floor, " Your not you, you never go against your word and its like I dont even know who you are anymore We dont hang out or do stuff together;, nothing"
"Selena, you know its because the palace is always on my back about getting a husband and becoming queen"
"I know and you do your best to try avoid them"
"Selena, Im sorry "I said and hugged her. She looked at me then she smiled." Im going to the bathroom to wash my face and apply more makeup" she stood up and walked to the bathroom and I followed her.
"Do you know how I got here?"
"Didn't you come here last night?"
"I dont remember "
She started watching her face and after I applied her makeup. When we were finished she looked at me and that same sober look appeared.
"I need to tell you something"
"What?"
"Because you ditched your fiancé twice in one day"
"What are they gonna do, ground me?"
"No, they moved up the date of your weeding to this Saturday"
"But that only gives me 3 days until then"
"I'm sorry"
I could feel tears streaming down my face and I sat down on my bed. My hand went up and grabbed my gold locket around my neck. I opened it and read My love is forever and always I looked down and then back up at Selena.
"I need to get out of here" I said through tears.
