"Its the beginning of the end" I whispered as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. They had forced me to try on the dress I would be wedded in tomorrow. It was one of a kind Cinderella dress; strapless and decorated with rig stones. They had also placed a humongous crown in my head with a vial attached; and I could already feel the spotlight that would be on me tomorrow. I had made my choice; I was going to do the thing every one has been telling me since the night Cody had died. I took off the gold locket from around my neck and the watch from around my arm and carefully placed them in a box along with other items that had reminded me of him. Then taking the box, I shoved it deep under the bed. I got up to see Selena; dressed in a simple yellow/ gold dress standing at the door way, with a small smile on her face.
"Cody would be smiling right now, if he was here"
I dropped my head feeling tears tempting to fall when I heard her say his name. It brought back memories, the promise of forever and always and my broken promise I had made to myself. When I could no longer feel the tears in my eyes, I looked up at Selena.
"Im sorry," I said, "I didnt mean to say what I said and I take back everything"
Her smile dropped and a confused look took over her facial expression.
"You think you can just take back what you said and we move on like it never happened. For the past 3 nights, I had no sleep. The only thing that ran through my mind was the things that you said. "She said; her voice cold.
"We have grown apart until I dont even know who you are anymore Demetria Devonne. And to know you were actually the one I most looked up to"
"Im marrying him Selena, what more do you want?" I shouted .
I could feel myself about to break down.
"I want my best friend, the Demi I know, who doesnt push people away"
