My weird and sporatical writing process strikes again! With a brand new story, unfortunately. Updates for other stuff will hopefully come soon, but in the meantime please enjoy this quick introduction chapter for a new story.
B1 droid; variant Flexible Role adapted for Kinetic recharge, rank Captain, designation FR-15K onlined. It was not a gradual process, like some droids and most organics. The fine-tuned if not somewhat under-programmed combat processors immediately powered on, then cycled through several visual and audial systems as it scanned the area for any hostiles. Turning up nothing, the processors returned to a dormant state, as the personality processes and other systems unnecessary for battle took their places.
Now fully cognisant, FR-15K took stock of his situation. He found several worrying anomalies.
Firstly, and currently most importantly, he was alone in a cave, with only a patch of flowers and a recently deceased small, child sized humanoid.
Said child was killed by what appeared to be fall damage, and was subsequently deemed unimportant.
As a Baktoid series B1 battle droid, he was designed and programed to fight in a large group, and was unaccustomed to being alone, especially as a recently upgraded Captain. This severely hampered his combat abilities.
He also did not recall entering said cave. This would have been normal, B1 droids had terrible memory capacity, if not for the lack of any orders or entrance, save for an incredibly long drop, or a currently locked door.
Due to the lack of a landing crater, or current structural damage, FR-15K decided that he had been somehow put and left here on purpose.
The lack of orders or any additional CIS communications signals despite the comlink booster pack meant that he defaulted to his original programing, and upon completion of the current situation report, would begin solo scouting.
Secondly, he had just acquired some form of additional memory and computation space. He had gained a 538% overall efficiency boost. He figured this was why he seemed roughly 403% more intelligent than base levels, and was not currently burning out his emotions processor panicking.
The third, and most unusual anomaly. The bright red cartoon heart that had floated from the deceased child into his body. That this happened 0.21 seconds before the second anomaly, indicated a 98.29% chance the two were connected.
Oh, and he was using male pronouns. That was also new.
He picked up his short E-5C carbine, and slowly headed towards the locked door, cradling the carbine. His photoreceptors adjusted for the low light as he left the patch of sunlight, and he easily made out the locking mechanism.
A blaster bolt easily melted the primitive deadbolt, although he had to perform a 'manual override' of his audioreceptors due to the echoing noise.
Pushing open the old door, he stepped forward, further into the Underground…
