New story. Please review if you want to give me a heads up on how I'm doing so far. I would highly encourage you to do so, but it's your choice :) I'll try to update as much as possible. Anyways onward to the story. Hope you enjoy it!
Humphrey's POV
It was day for evacuation, and I had to leave my poor Kate all alone. I was quite sad for leaving her all alone. I wanted to leave a few thousand in her purse, but she told me she could handle herself. I pleaded for her to at least have a thousand, so she could have a start off for a few days, but once again she declined. Evacuation day was hard for me since I only saw her for a month and three days.
I hadn't gone to war in about two years, but I was glad for that. I was glad, because I was in Vanguard for the Navy. It was pretty scary to be in front. I was a private in the whole station, but I was top dog when it came to shooting. The only person to surpass me was a person who I hated the most. No not Garth, someone worse than Garth. Plus she was a girl.
Her name was Glade. She is a pretty piece of work, but if you annoy her you wont see the sun ever again, literally. Glade is a brunette, and has a curly mane. She looked beautiful, and she could sprint. She had a bunch of stamina. The fastest mile time she completed it was 3 minutes and 42 seconds. Mine was 5 minutes and 27 seconds. Her average time is about 4 minutes and 32 seconds.
She had a perfect body, but wasn't strong. She barely managed to do all 100 push-ups in two minutes. She could shoot like nobodies business though. She was designed to be a Marine, but changed to the Navy. Hah boy did she make a mistake. The Navy is mostly all about being silent, but she didn't have it in her. I can't believe they allowed her to become a Seal.
To become a Navy seal you have to know how to swim, hand to hand combat, and specialize in any type of gun, and a pistol. The second last thing was to be drowned, and brought back. Lastly you would have to know CPR. It was the most important thing out of being a Seal.
I also have a friend his name is Beowulf. He was a loner, until he met me in high school. Although I don't think his methods changed. He still wears all black, and hardly ever talks. I just hope nothing bad happened during his past life time. He is the highest ranked solider out of the whole group of newbies. He was actually better than some of the captains. Mostly because he's self taught, and a fast learner. I admired him, because I actually wanted to be just like him. Well without being all silent, and all that bad stuff.
Evacuation Day
I was laying down in two chairs next to each other. My feet were scrunched up at the end of the chair. I let out a loud sigh, as I started to fell bored while I waited for my flight to Rhode Island. It was a five hour flight, something I hated the most. "Sounds like someone is going to enjoy their trip to Rhode Island." I chuckled a bit, and replied back.
"Well at least the most beautiful wolf gets to stay home without a worry." She shook her head in disagreement.
"That is so not true. I have to worry about you everyday." Kate was sitting by me, and she looked down at me, while I covered my eyes with my Canadian passport, and my plane ticket. I placed my hand further out, away from my face, and looked at my ticket. I took a peek at the time and gate number, and it printed out '12:30 P.m. Gate 1A' I looked at the most beautiful wolf of all time, and asked her a simple question.
"Kate what time is it?" Once I said it she pulled out her iPhone 5c.
"It's 12:25." She frowned, and looked over to me.
"I guess I better be on my way." I replied. Kate sighed, but nodded in agreement.
"I guess so." We said our goodbyes, and we were off to our own separate ways. I walked up to a security guard, and showed him my passport, and he quickly saluted me.
"Thank you for serving our country Mr. Garcia." With that I saluted back to the officer, and he let me through. Once I arrived inside someone yelled out my name. I turned my head to my left, and saw the Captain.
"Yes sir?" I asked after saluting. He used his finger to signal a 'come here' sign. I did what I was told. He spoke to be once I caught up to him.
"Did you say good-bye?" I nodded, but still spoke to him.
"Yes sir. I have said good-bye to everyone including family and friends." He wasn't smiling or anything. He just kept his face serious the whole time. Finally he said something.
"Good. because you might not return this time for at least 15 years." I was shocked to hear this, so I complained.
"But sir what about my four year term?" We arrived at my gate and I looked to see a jet instead of a plane.
"There's no such thing anymore." He spoke to me, as he pointed to the entrance. "If you survive all the wars we will reward you greatly. Every war you survive your check balance will be even greater. Your wife will get the money, and you will start getting points. Points are used to buy things while your at camp. No where else."
He pulled out a card with my name on it, and the card had the picture of my beautiful Kate. It looked like a credit card, but better because Kate was on it. "Alright then, I best be on my way." I said with confidence. The captain finally smiled and patted my back. "Atta boy." The entrance closed while I began to walk into the jet. Once I entered I was instructed to take a seat. I did what I was told to do, and the jet started it's engine. After it lifted off I was able to stand up and put my gear on.
I walked over to the restroom, and changed in there. Something told me that I have made a bad choice. I ignored the feeling and sat down on the chair. I fell asleep with Kate in my mind. I was suddenly woken up by one of the pilots. "Hey you lazy bum get up." He spoke in a raspy voice. I took in a deep breath and sat up, while rubbing my eyes.
Once I looked around I released my breath. "Where are we?" I asked putting my head up against the glass window.
"We are in Iraq. Better get ready to jump." I quickly shifted my head towards him.
"Wait what the hell? I'm a Navy Seal! Not a Marine!" I protested. The man gave me a dirty look.
"Remember we own you. Get your ass down there. Now!" I grunted and placed my parachute on. Good thing I was in a dark suit too, because I would have been shot since I was wearing mostly black. I dropped out, and fell a few hundred few down before I pulled out my parachute. To be honest the air felt pretty nice.
I enjoyed it, but it stopped until I heard a burst of shooting. I looked down, and saw a red bandanna over someone's head. I didn't say anything, but I knew they were Taliban. I pushed my parachute to the left as the gun fire started again. The bullets were flying towards me. One of the damn bullets pierced my skin and into my flesh making me grunt.
I was about to accept my fate until the shooting stopped. For a second I was confused until I heard a knife slice through human skin and flesh. "All clear." I heard. It was a low voice, and I knew who it was. I landed and looked over to him.
"Thanks Garth. You saved me back there." Garth smiled and started cleaning his knife. His napkin turned crimson red, while cleaning his knife.
"I'm using this, because my cleaning supplies are at camp." I looked toward the three Taliban that tried to kill me. "How the hell did you kill them all?" Garth grinned at this.
"I may not look like the stealth type, but if it come to killing these fuckers then I'm all for it." He replied. "Come on let's go to camp. We're not safe out here." I followed him back, but first I cut my parachute off, and took the bag. I took it, because it had my weapons in it. I slowly trudged to his encampment since my leg injury was in pain, but I kept going trying to ignore that pain.
Five miles in, and I couldn't handle anymore of it. I dropped to the floor, and blacked out, because of the pain.
Garth's POV
I was talking to Humphrey until he dropped to the floor hard. "Shit." I dropped to my knees, and checked his heartbeat. His heart rate was slow, but slowly increased. Quickly I wrapped my brown bandanna above his bullet wound. I wrapped it tight, and pulled out my knife. I let my knife go into Humphrey's flesh.
After a while I felt the bullet, and I swiftly moved my arm. It caused him to grunt, but he'll live for another mile. We arrived at the encampment, and I immediately took him to our medic. "I need the medic now!" I demanded. The medic ran to Humphrey and asked me what had happened. I told him exactly what happened.
"Wait a second." He spoke before I continued. "Did he leave a trail of blood?" I didn't think of that, while I was carrying him here. "Fuck I didn't check. Keep the snipers on lookout." The medic ordered messengers to warn the snipers. The medic told me he needed space to work, so I helped out set up another stockade. It was two in the morning now, and Humphrey would be awake at 6 A.m. So technically in four hours from now. I started yawning, and thanked the doctor once he finished with Humphrey.
I walked over to my tent, and threw myself onto my small bed. I'll see Humphrey in the morning.
Hopefully you enjoyed it. Please leave me a review on how I did so far. I stayed up pretty late making this. I'm tired. Well I'll see you next time I update. Later
