Sometimes when a yokai befriends a human, the yokai follows them around and helps them, not unlike a butler or pet, this is the case with Pinkipoo and Hannah.
One day, Hannah and Pinkipoo were in the living room relaxing, both of Hannah's parents were at the store, picking up groceries. And then all of a sudden "Oh no!" Hannah yelled, startltng Pinkipoo who was getting some beauty sleep, "I forgot I was going to see a movie with my friends today! I still have half an hour left before they get there, if I go on my bike I'll surely make it!"
"Wait! Don't you remember that your parents told you not to leave the house?" Pinkipoo proclaimed, but by the time he finished the sentence, Hannah had already put on their jacket and gone outside. Thankfully, when Pinkipoo got outside, Hannah was still putting on their helmet. Pinkipoo tried to knock some sense into them but Hannah simply just gestured over to the basket on the front of the bike where Pinkipoo always sat. During the ride Pinkipoo continued to lecture Hannah on why they should respect their parents and go back home, but it was obvious that Hannah wasn't listening.
However, soon they both would be seeing exactly why you should never disobey your parents. Hannah's bicycle seemed to disappear underneath them, the world turned an eerie grey, and they felt like something was behind them. They both knew that it was the one and only "GARGAROS!" Both Pinkipoo and Hannah screamed at the top of their lungs. They both ran as fast as their legs could keep up with, trying desperately to not get caught by the red oni.
"Hannah! We have to get home as fast as we can, that's the only way to stop this brute!" Pinkipoo said as they were running, Hannah turned to him and nodded determinedly yet fearfully. They took shortcuts and went though thin allies that Gargaros couldn't get though, but no matter what he always seemed to be right behind them.
TRIP
Pinkipoo fell onto the cold, hard pavement below. "W-Wait for me!" He called out to Hannah, but they didn't stop running, in fact, they didn't even acknowledge that Pinkipoo was no longer running along side them.
As Pinkipoo was still trying to process the betrayal of his friend, he heard the thundering footsteps behind him coming to a halt. Pinkipoo knew Gargaros was right behind him.
As Pinkipoo turned himself towards Gargaros, he was surprised to find that instead of smashing him with a club, Gargaros instead held out his hand, he was trying to help Pinkipoo up. Pinkipoo was clearly surprised, why would the large red oni who seemed more interested in clubbing children be kind enough to help somebody up after they've fallen down? No matter how confused Pinkipoo was over the sudden kind offer, he still grabbed one of Gargaros' big fingers to help himself up.
There was an awkward silence after Pinkipoo got up, with Pinkipoo staring at Gargaros intendly, trying to figure out what the oni was planning, cause he had to be planning something. After a while of awkward silence and even more awkward eye contact, Gargaros grinned and chuckled, pointing at the small yokai with a large finger and simply saying "FRIEND…" with what seemed like enthusiasm.
Pinkipoo didn't know what to make of this, but he smiled as well and said "Y-Yes Gargaros! Friend!" After he said this, the large oni smiled from ear to ear. For some reason, after seeing Gargaros in a not angry, relaxed state, made Pinkipoo also happy.
Although, of course, Pinkipoo had to return to Hannah once they had gotten home and been yell at by their mom, but now Pinkipoo always goes out during the night while Hannah is asleep to meet with his friend that he met by pure chance.
