"Better be careful Ollie or I might think you're falling for me."

He's smiled warmly at her words and took her small hand in his much larger calloused one. Walking back to his penthouse he remained silent.

He said nothing when they were finally inside and alone.

Nothing when he immediately spun her into his arms, pressing his lips against hers possessively.

Nothing when he was peeling the clothes from her body, making sure there wasn't a mark. Making sure she really was okay.

Nothing when she was breathless and gasping under his expert touch. Screaming his name to the heavens.

Nothing as they lay tangled together in post coital bliss.

Nothing as she drifted off to sleep tucked tightly against his side. His hand absently tracing circles along her exposed hip.

Her words echoed over and over again in his head. Falling for her? He was pretty sure that panic he felt when Tess revealed the target was watchtower made that statement already past tense.

He hadn't expected it, he hadn't been looking for it, and certainly he hadn't seen it coming. That's why as he lay in bed next to her it felt like a Mac truck had just run him over. He'd been so unaware of what was happening, so completely convinced everything would remain simple, uncomplicated.

Oliver didn't consider himself a foolish man. He was self aware enough to know where his strengths and weaknesses lay and yet he had some how he deluded himself into thinking it would be possible to have a fling with the one woman on the planet that knew him better than himself.

She knew where all his skeletons were hidden. Where all his secret dreams were held and everything in between, mundane things like how he liked his coffee. How much mustard he liked on his turkey sandwiches. How much starch he liked in his shirt collars.

He sighed softly to himself. His knowledge of her was just as extensive. And still he had convinced himself that a casual relationship would be possible. It wasn't just foolish it was insane.

Given all of that information, all of his self actualizing, all of his careful careful planning it was still a shock to realize he was in love with her. Madly, passionately, over the moon in love with her.

Almost as quickly as it had come the shock wore off. Replaced by a warmth that radiated from his chest and left him feeling more whole, more content, more happy than he had ever felt before or ever thought possible.

She had set down the ground rules for their "relationship" and he would abide by them. He wouldn't force her. Wouldn't rush her because he could be a patient man. If the mission called for it.

He was drawn out of his own head when she snuggled closer.

"Go to sleep Ollie. You're thinking too loud." Her voice was husky with sleep and he couldn't help but smile. She was too smart not to figure it out. Not to realize how he felt. The trick would be making sure she felt the same way so when she was finally confronted with the reality of the situation it would be too late for her to do anything but to fall into his arms.

Yup. He was going to make sure his watchtower fell just as hard as he had. Even if he had to give her a few good shoves.

AN just a quick one hot following last weeks episode.

All the convoluted mess with Checkmate and Zod is infuriating but at least the Chollie goodness continues.
