Autumn to Spring II
1. With Changing Seasons
It had been growing, stirring
in the shadowed gloom before hope
before the final shift
to victory
and defeat – because a loss always followed
a gain, a change
But it as a welcome change,
a change that had been long in coming
behind that never-ending winter
But the winter has ended, now, in a shower of sparks
and exploding light
so fast
that the cold horror from the winter past.
