I got a lot to say to you,
Yeah, I got a lot to say.
I noticed your eyes are always glued to me,
Keeping them here and it makes not sense at all.
The song played on the radio as Velvet and Chris drove down the road. The lyrics brought a smile to Velvet's face, and she turned the volume up. For the past few days, she had been listening to the song over and over, only because it related to her. The lyrics told the same story that she had to tell; she had something to tell Chris, she liked him. She had always liked him ever since she laid eyes on him, but never had the courage to tell him, maybe now she did.
They taped over your mouth,
Scribbled out the truth.
With their lies,
You little spies.
They taped over your mouth,
Scribbled out the truth.
With their lies,
Your little spies.
Velvet hummed along and occasionally glanced over at Chris who was driving the car. "Why are you humming?" Chris asked. Velvet simply threw up her hand in response, she didn't want any interruptions. The song was a symbol to her, and she wanted to hear it all the way through without anybody making any noise. "Crush. Crush. Crush. Crush, crush." She sang along, nodding her head along to the music. Velvet could get into a song if the beat was good. "2, 3, 4!" She motioned her fingers along to the music as if she was counting along.
Nothing compares to,
A quiet evening alone.
Just the one two,
I was just counting on.
That never happens,
I guess I'm dreaming again.
Let's be more than,
This.
A faint smile came over Velvet's lips as her eyes scanned over Chris's face. She wanted to be more than what they were, but she didn't know how to tell him. She didn't know if it was okay to come out with it, or slowly make hints. Either way she went, her message would still come out. By the end, Chris would still know her true feelings and hopefully be with her.
If you want to play it like a game,
Well, come on, come on, let's play.
Cuz I'd rather waste my life pretending,
Then have to forget you for one whole minute.
Velvet shook her head and glanced out the window. She didn't want to play a game, she wanted to be with him. She wanted to have him to herself and be in a loving relationship. There was only one problem with her plan, what if he didn't feel the same way? Would he hate her for liking him? Would their friendship be ruined? She honestly didn't know, but she didn't want to chance it. Her freidnship was too valuable to mess up, but then again, she would never know his feelings unless she asked. She was stuck in a bad situation.
They taped over your mouth,
Scribbled out the truth.
With their lies,
You little spies.
They taped over your mouth,
Scribbled out the truth.
With their lies,
Your little spies.
Velvet shut off the radio and turned her body towards Chris. Her thoughts were racing through her mind, but she thought she made the right decision. Well, she hoped she did. "Chris.." She started off, sighing softly. She ran a hand through her hair and sat silently, watching his expression turned confused. "I know that we're friends, but I don't want that. Ever since the day we first met, i've had a crush on you. I mean, you're nice, kind, sweet, funny.." She nodded her head, biting down on her lip. A sigh escaped her lips as she looked down at the floor; she didn't know if she was making the right decision or not. "I want to be more than friends."
Chris sat in silence for several minutes, then a smile came over his lips. "Then let's be more than friends." He stated, nodding his head. Velvet smiled wide and leaned over the seat, kissing him softly on the lips. His decision had made her happier than she had been in a while. She just knew that they were going to be together for a very long time, and she was hoping for that.
