Just a little idea that popped into my head. I don't think of it as a romantic pairing of Tonks and Charlie. I just pictured them being friends at Hogwarts because Tonks got along well with the other Weasley siblings in Order of the Phoenix. And I thoroughly believe that Charlie would have called Tonks "Nymphie," just because it sounded sweet.
Please review this tiny thing.
My dearest Nymphie,
I won't start this letter off by asking you if everything's okay. I wish I could but I've heard otherwise. Mum keeps writing to me about you. She says that you've been "struggling through a rough patch" and she said that you've had her worried, which is why she's been writing to me.
Mum said that she and dad took you in over the summer. She mentioned you gave up on trying to manage an apartment and a life directed by the Order, since you were paying for a place in which you hardly ever lived. You had hopes of staying at Grimmwald place, but mum said that the moment you mentioned that you were practically homeless, she wouldn't let you stay there by yourself. That's mum for you; she'd wipe your face if you asked her for a napkin.
But she said that wasn't the reason as to why your life was turning into a mess. She said you've fallen in love with that Remus Lupin guy (only heard a bit about him from Fred in a letter when he taught at Hogwarts. Mum failed to go into detail about him). And she said that he loves you back and all, but he won't start anything with you because he's "too old, too poor and too dangerous" (Mum said he's been saying that like a broken record). Too dangerous? From the little bit that mum told me, I hear he's a werewolf, but it wouldn't be like you're dating a Hungarian Horntail. Tell him that I said you've seen more danger in Trelawney's class.
I didn't write to you to make jokes about our favorite Divination teacher. I wanted to tell you that I wish I could be there for you. It's hard to leave Romania, not when Dumbledore's been having me work here for him, so I don't think I could come in and see you, but I really wish I could. Mum said that she's finding you depressed from everything going on and you've lost your Metamorphmagus abilities because of it and you've been sporting your natural look. It's a shame really. I always loved your pink hair, since no other girl wore that color, but my favorite was your red and gold locks for me when Gryffindor played Slytherin or Ravenclaw. And you always knew how to make me smile with your silly nose changes. I just wish I could make you smile now.
Hang in there, kid. I know I'm not an expert on broken hearts, since I spent most of my time obsessing over dragons and magical creatures to even find time for girls aside from you, but I'm sorry that a guy can hurt you this much. I know it's not much, but if you feel like you need a big ol' hug from your favorite Weasley, just ask dad. Bribe him with a door knob if you have to. Because I really want to come in just to help you through all this, but it seems highly unlikely at the moment. And my great aunt Muriel has always said that me and dad have similar hugs.
You're the strongest girl I know, Tonks, and I don't just mean by built. The girl I knew at Hogwarts would never let something like this get her so upset. I know you can get above this, and I truly mean it.
You don't have to write back or anything. I just wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about you and I will keep thinking about you. Just keep your head held high and keep smiling. Your happy personality is what made you the coolest Hufflepuff I ever met. But, I hope you can get through this in the best way possible, for your own sake.
I'll love you always, your good friend,
Charile
