Autumn to Spring I
1. Alone on the Beach

It was no longer summer: the languid time of peace
but when the wind picked up, distrust filled the air
and the crowd vanished, leaving him a solitary figure
on the beach, where the water scraped his feet
and left them bleed

But he couldn't move; winter was coming:
a cold, harsh cruel winter
with blowing biting wind.
