Bugs

Disclaimer: Am I allowed to sue if they don't leave me alone?

"Well aren't you a funny little bug?"

The tickling sensation in his palm stopped abruptly. The smile left his lips and he opened his eyes, a frown upon his brow.

Sara straightened and crossed her arms. "Gil, I am not one of your bugs."

He regarded her for a moment, letting her silence be his guide. Finally set on his course of action he sat up from his prone position and faced her.

"On the contrary my Dear, you are just the bug for me."

Her eyebrow quirked and the corner of her lip quivered but she wasn't about to let him win so easily. She settled back into the pillows rested against the headboard, leaving her arms crossed.

"How?: Her voice was low and slightly gravelly with a hint of challenge coloring her tone.

She was slightly taken aback when, instead of back peddling and getting tongue tied, he moved to the foot of the bed and began tracing an imaginary line up her foot—first with his finger but followed with a trail of feather light kisses from his lips. Only then did he begin speaking,

"Your feet are as dragonflies on the water, delicate and small."

He traced the line higher up to her thigh. "Your slender legs are as those of the grasshopper, strong and beautiful."

Higher he went; mouth following finger, until he reached her chest. "Your breasts are as two anthills on the horizon, holding within them the sustenance of life."

His lips reached her collarbone and she closed her eyes in anticipation, willing his lips to capture her own.

But he moved lower again, tracing the length of her arm all the way down to her fingertips. "Your hands are like the mighty tarantula, soft and more gentle than one might imagine."

Taking advantage of her closed eyes he jumped straight to them from her hand, kissing each in turn. "Your eyes are as the scarab beetle, mysterious and lovely."

He moved back to her collarbone and traced a line along her neck. "Your neck is like the majestic mantis, regal and graceful.

Finally he let his fingers trace the outline of her lips before gently kissing her. "And your lips are as the careful caterpillar, plump and silky. But you, my Darling, though you be all of these things, you are my butterfly because you came back to me. You came back more beautiful and whole."

She pulled him in for another kiss and smiled against his lips. "Gilbert Grissom, you're so weird. I love it."

He settled against her and kissed her forehead gently. "Sara Grissom, you married me. I love you."
