Disclaimer: I really don't own twilight. . . If I did, I'd probably give Bella to Jacob and Keep Edward for myself! Just Kidding!
Jane's Tale
Ch.1
The Stake
The Crowd stood before us, so scary and bizarre it made my head spin.
"Jane and Alec Fort, You have both been charged of witchcraft, and are to be burned at the stake.Do you have any last words?" a man called, I could not see his face.
There were torches all around me, their flames glowed. I Twisted, and tried to look at my brothers face. My brother was silent, yet I could tell that he wished they would suffer.
"I hope you all die a painful death!" I spat, as a tried to release my arms. I hated being defenseless.
My hands were bound so tight together that my wrists stung, and my shoulders were sore. "Alec," I murmured, "I don't want to die, not like this." Alec turned his head in my direction, and his usually joyful eyes were hard. "It's okay, Jane." He said comfortingly, "Shhhh, they'll pay for what they're doing."
I watched as two men approached us, torches in hand. One dropped his torch on the tumbles of dry grass they had gathered.
The flames ate away at the grass, and heavy clouds of smoke wafted up at my face. I started coughing. Alec was coughing also, and was pulling hard at our bindings. "NO!" he yelled, "WE'RE INNOCENT!"
A couple seconds later I could feel the warmth of the flames draw closer to my bare feet. "ALEC!" I screamed, but I was already being suffocated by the smoke. The Flames caught hold around me feet, and I could feel it searing my legs.
I could here someone screaming. Alec?
No, the screams were mine, and I forced myself to shut my mouth, to keep the pain inside. How could these people do this to us?
I groaned from the amount of smoke, and I let my knees collapse under me, though I didn't move much for I was bound tightly against the pole. I couldn't bite my tongue anymore, and my throat forced out a scream.
But it was not only my scream that I heard this time, I heard many screams.
The CROWD was screaming?
The screams continued as I started to lose consciousness. But, to my horror, I was enjoying the pain of the others. Whoever they were, whatever was happening to them, they should pay for hurting my family, for hurting my Friends.
I could feel cold tugging at the rope, and it broke free. I collapsed to the ground, but strong arms caught me. Was I dead? Where were my mother and father? What about Alec?
Death didn't seem so bad, now that the fire was gone. Coughing, I opened my eyes.
This was not heaven. This was hell.
Whatever I have done to go down here, I hope it was worth it.
I think that my brother will be an angel, he never lost patience the way I did, Alec always put on a smile for almost everything.
A hooded figure was holding me, carrying me away. He wasn't looking at my face, so I don't think he knew that I was awake until I moved my legs. My Legs hurt very bad, they stung. The man holding me still looked away, avoiding my gaze.
Somehow, I knew this man did not want to hurt me. . . YET . . . I heard that they do bad things in hell . . . but I couldn't stay awake to be sure. . . I started to drift into a black cloud. . .
