« I raised him from Hell and he made me fall from Heaven »

He'd never gone down to Hell before.

Of course, he knew it, he had heard about it, he had 'watched' it from afar. After all, he'd lived long enough to take a look, after some centuries.

He couldn't deny it: when he'd been given the mission, he hadn't been that indifferent to its localization. He didn't feel any excitement – angels don't feel such things – but there were still this small feeling of curiosity mixed up with boredom which had come along. Contradictory, perhaps... but it was a well-known fact that the demons' lair was of absolutely no interest to them, Celestial Beings.

Hell was as hideous as he had heard it was, or had perceived from Heaven. And the Human he had to mark was barely discernible from the rest, as Hell had almost completely devoured him.

When he saw him, he knew his task was already accomplished. Yet, he looked like all the other condemned – those moving, sweating things who seemed to be tortured permanently. Humans did certainly not look like that on Earth. Were some tiny years already enough to obtain such a quick change?

Fragile, he thought. Those little things were so fragile, and weak. And yet for them to take that much attention from the Archangels, and even God Himself a while ago, they must had something special in them, hadn't they?

He felt like... it was an indescribable feeling. Maybe something he would later qualify by the word 'deception'?

He went closer to the tormented soul to put a quick end to this despicable mission, and the very moment he touched him, his eyes almost froze him where he was. There were so many questions, so much feelings, so many... things he couldn't understand in it – and would most certainly never understand.

One second later, he was gone.

It took Castiel only half a second to come back to his 'senses'. Dean Winchester, huh? Whatever would happen to him now.

The Human was back, and he was done with his mission.
