Author's Note: This is my first time publishing a fanfiction to this site, but not my first fanfiction. It's just a short angsty Beck and Jade thing that I wrote a few days ago.
Disclaimer: I do not own Victorious or any of it's characters.
He made her feel whole.
Every feeling that she had previously lacked was there when she was with Beck.
Before, she had felt only empty.
Like she was there, but only physically.
Her mind, her soul, her very being, was lost, drifting in between worlds, trying to find where she belonged.
Until they met.
Instantly, she was drawn to earth.
Even as she rejected him, she could feel her heart opening up to him.
She wanted him to hold her and for him to know everything.
She wanted him to make her feel safe.
/
He fell for her the minute he saw her.
He was a heartthrob, having had many girlfriends.
Not a single one of them made him feel the way she made him feel anywhere even close to how he felt around her.
As she rejected him, he felt a feeling never felt when he was asking out others.
He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
/
The first few times they broke up, the meaningless times, she still continued feeling whole.
But when they broke up for all those months.
All she could feel was empty.
Now, she resumed her life before Beck.
Passing through every pointless day, doing what she was supposed to do.
She didn't cry.
Her feelings were simply, utterly, gone.
/
He had broken up with many girls, knowing that if, for some reason, he wanted to get back together with any of them, they would take him back in heartbeats.
The first few times Jade and him broke up, he felt the same way.
That if he asked, he would receive her love right back.
Then, that feeling was gone.
He was left unsure that he would ever get back together with her.
/
But they did. They got back together, just like they always did.
Except this time, she didn't feel the same.
There were sparks of her old feelings, the ones only felt with Beck.
She thought that it was just because of the time they had been apart, that her feelings would return with time.
But they never did.
/
Beck was the opposite.
He was all the more smitten with her.
He felt the same way he had felt with he first saw her.
Whenever he thought of his future, all he could think of was Jade.
The only thing he could think of was Jade.
She was in his past, his present, and would be in his future.
/
Years later, he proposed.
She said yes, because they had been together for so long that she didn't know how to say no.
/
As they prepared for their wedding, he noticed a shift in her personality. She was more distant. He had noticed this shift for years, since they got back together after their long break, but now it was more prominent than ever.
The wedding went as planned, and his dreams of the future were quickly becoming his reality.
He was ecstatic.
/
She felt trapped.
She wished she hadn't said yes, but she didn't know what else to do.
She was trapped.
Trapped in the future that she had chosen for herself.
She wanted out.
So she left.
/
He woke up one morning, with his wife no longer next to him.
There was a note downstairs on the counter, right next to the coffee machine.
Saying that she was gone and sorry and many other words that blurred together from the tears in his eyes.
She was gone.
The love of his life was gone.
/
She felt happier than she had in many, many years.
She was free.
/
After all, there are always two sides to every story.
