"Ok Alice," Bella said in what was supposed to be an ominous voice, "truth. . ." she paused, "or dare?"
I playfully rolled my eyes sighing, over exaggerating frustration. "Well. . . Hmmmm. Let's see: This is such a hard decision. . ." I closed my eyes peeking through one to watch Emmett's face twitch with impatience. Finally he lost his control and erupted like a volcano that someone was feeding explosives to.
"COME ON ALREADY!!! I wanna turn!!! Everyone except me has gone!! It's not fair!!" I looked at Bella, eyebrows raised in false shock and she returned the gesture.
"We had NO idea Emmett!!! We're SO sorry!!!" then, with that added bit of acting, Edward started laughing, ruining my and Bella's evil plot. We called it:
Operation: Torture Emmett For our own Amusement!!
It was going pretty well until Edward, with his little talent of reading minds, foiled our plan when it was just getting good.
Giving up, Bella and I burst into a fit of laughter also and our siblings, sensing the plot, soon joined in. Everyone, that is, except our pouty-faced big teddy bear of a brother.
Sensing a poor little heart crumbling in sadness, I skipped over to Emmett giving him a hug and proclaimed "Ok I'll finish my turn and then you can have one. How does that sound?"
Emmett nodded and straightened up from his, what would be, tears, were he not a vampire. Rosalie went over to him and comforted him, murmering in his ear as we restarted our game of truth or dare.
"Ok. I choose truth," I paused, a smile playing on my lips, "you probably can't even think of any more dares."
Bella said "Could too!!" But as Emmett started whimpering Bella got back to the point. "Ok. Is it true that you, Alice Cullen, can see into the future? And if it is, which it is, can you tell us what we will all be like in our next lives?" Turning to Edward, Bella squinted at him saying "Because even vampires get a next life, no matter how eternally damned Edward seems to be so sure we are."
Edward playfully growled but the sounds started fading, growing distant as my eyes went dazed, focused on something my family could not see.
