Dear FanFiction,

It is a Sunday here in America, and I have not uploaded since January 11th, 2015. It is now January 31, 2016. I had this idea around New Years, when looking back, and I realized that I had moved on from the PJO fandom. From around August 2013 to Summer of 2015, FanFiction was a huge part of my life.

I was really in only 3.5 fandoms: Harry Potter, PJO, and the Hunger Games. Kickin' It was something that I would read occasionally (Kick smut), and that's what the .5 of a fandom is. In the two years that I had an obsession with fandoms, I remembered that I would never be free of FanFic. It was honestly like a drug.

FanFic was something that I would enjoy every day. I remember that if I was sleeping anywhere for those two years, all I would think about was Percabeth. I would come home from school, and have to do something right after, and I would read while getting dressed. I would read in the car, before bed, and over holiday breaks. Over 2014 Thanksgiving break, I stood up till 3 reading a Hunter FanFic. Artemis was there, and I remembered that the "virgins" we're pretty much raping Percy.

FanFiction was something that made me the person who I am today. And on my profile, it says that Survivor is my favorite TV show. Well now it's an obsession. Reading FanFiction actually rekindled my love for reading, because reading only a select few books was not something that I enjoyed. Because of it, I would find communities on what books were interesting, and I would read them.

Now, I don't think I'll ever be absent from certain FanFic. Anything BellaLou5 or WElaine21 creates is a must-read for me, and if they ever publish a book I will buy it. But what makes me the saddest is when really great stories haven't been updated since 2009. It just shows that everyone moves on in life, and yet, it's not something you can erase. It was enjoyment and entertainment for many of us, and we can't be embarrassed because of it. I encourage others to update a small letter like this, just to tell there fans how they are doing. Your fans will thank you.

So what I'm really trying to say, I guess, is one little thing:

THANK YOU.

Thank you to everyone that has written, read, or even the creators of FanFiction. You have changed my life for the better.

For the last time,

TheSixthFaction
