Sydney Geist awoke with a sudden chill overcoming her whole body.

"What the heck is wrong with me?" Sydney walked downstairs noticing her parents were away…again.

"UGHH! THEY LEAVE AND DON'T TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY WOULD DO THIS….and I can't believe I am talking to myself." Sydney sighed and sat at the kitchen table.

"Sydney?" a voice called.

"Yeah who is it?" Sydney asked slowly getting up from her chair.

Severus Snape turned around the corner.

"Uncle Sevvy!!" Sydney yelled.

He hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead. "Where are your no good parents?"

"Away somewhere…" Sydney sighed.

Severus shook his head, "What gives them the idea they can just do that to you?"

"Don't ask me. So what are you doing here?" Sydney asked.

"Didn't your parents….never mind I have a letter for you." Severus handed her the letter with a Hogwarts symbol on the back.

"What's this?" Sydney asked anxiously opening the letter. Her eyes widened as she read what was held before her.

"It's true you are a witch." Severus smiled.

"No….it's impossible I can't be a witch, there must be some mistake, they don't exist."

"On the contrary everything exists. Hun you are a witch and I am the potions professor." Severus winked. "Well that explains how you dress." Sydney mumbled under her breathe.

"Excuse me?" Severus laughed.

"Nothing, Ok I know you are lying to me there is no way on earth that I am a witch." Sydney shrugged her shoulders.

"Hold this wand and point it towards the fireplace." Severus handed her the wand and with no faith she pointed it towards the fireplace.

"Now say Incendio."

"Incendio." Sydney said. A fire suddenly started to burn in the fireplace.

"Whoa…did I?…..No Way…This is awesome!!!" Sydney squealed.

"Yes but you must never use magic out of Hogwarts." Severus said firmly, "Since your parents are not at the resident I must take you to Diaggon Alley to shop, and then to the train station. I have a young fellow for you to meet he is outside. Now we must walk in haste and waste no time." Severus winked as they went upstairs to gather a few things.

When they exited the premises Sydney gazed at a young boy, "who is that?" "That is Harry Potter, Harry this is Sydney." Severus smiled as he introduced them.

"H-H-Hi" Harry stuttered.

"Hi" Sydney blushed.

"Enough with this love fest, now let us go so we don't miss the train, we still have to go shopping." Severus hurried to a beat up volts wagon.

"So you're a wizard?" Sydney asked.

"Yeah! It's weird one day you're a regular person and then the next you have magical powers." Harry chuckled slightly.

"I imagine you too will see a lot of each other this school year." Severus looked into the rear view mirror. Sydney and Harry looked at each other and smiled.

The rest of the ride they were silent, except for the occasional singing of Severus with the radio.

"We are here!" Severus opened the door for Sydney and they all went inside a pub. In the back they saw a large brick wall.

"Umm…Uncle Sev…There isn't anything here." Sydney replied.

"Wait a moment; never underestimate anything no matter how strange it may be." Severus tapped onto different bricks in a rythmatic tone. Suddenly the bricks separated and they saw an amazing alignment of stores along a road.

"Wow!" Harry smiled.

They walked and shopped for about an hour or so and gathered all their things. They both got wands that fit them perfectly, except Sydney felt connected to hers like there was something about it that had significance to it. Severus dropped them off at the train station, setting them off on their long journey to Hogwarts.

Please review no matter what you thought of it. It is a working progress and needs work. Thank-you and I will try to get more out. I do not own any of these characters except Sydney Geist. The other characters are from J. K. Rowling.
