Hey there guys! Well, I think that at this point I don't have any other choice but to admit that Fanfiction is really just addicting, so I am really just writing everything that comes to my head because I enjoy it so much. And so, that means that I have another new story for all of you! Haha, and of course, I don't own anything in this story, and I hope that you all enjoy!

After Jake had moved in with Lady and had left Finn by himself in the treehouse, it wasn't entirely out of the ordinary for Finn to let himself into Marceline's house, as she had told him that whenever he wanted some good company or when he just didn't want to be in the treehouse any longer, she would more than likely be there, and she had even shown him where she would normally hide the spare key in case she wasn't. When Finn walked into the living room that afternoon, he saw that the vampire queen was floating aimlessly above her couch, staring at the ceiling as she strummed the same couple of notes on her guitar. "Hey Marcie!" he greeted, and she turned around with a slight smile. "Why so glum?"

"Ah, hey Finnegan. I just got a letter informing me that I must attend this stupid 'Royal Women of Ooo' parade in the Candy Kingdom tomorrow morning. It's apparently of the utmost importance, and Bubble Butt – oh, sorry – Princess Bubblegum said that she wants to make it an annual thing, depending on how tomorrow morning turns out." she said, sighing and rolling her eyes, before she suddenly lit up and grinned. "Hey! Bonnibel said that we're all going to have to have a bodyguard to accompany us in the parade, just in case, so do you wanna be mine?"

Finn paused, biting his lip nervously. "I don't know, man… wouldn't the Princess want me to help her too? I mean, the Ice King could attack or anyth-" he began, but Marceline pouted innocently and batted her eyelashes.

"Well, Finney, maybe I will need to be saved too…" she said, smiling slightly as she pouted, and Finn chuckled, knowing exactly what she was trying to get at. "You would be saving me from dying of boredom…"

"Alright, alright!" he said finally, and she cheered. "I'll do it!"

. . .

Princess Bubblegum had wanted everyone to arrive when the sun was only just beginning to rise, so that the parade could begin when the sun 'washed over everything and gave the candy houses a sugary glow.' She had also planned everything out so that each of the princesses would be carried on their own personalized platform-like thing, and the newer princesses would begin the parade, Marceline (as the only queen) would be after all of the princess, and then she herself would be at the end, as they were in her own kingdom. Finn followed Marceline as they were pointed down in the direction of Marceline's platform, which (thankfully) had actual walls and a roof added to it, which were all painted with grey and black stripes, with purple curtains on the windows, and a golden plaque on either side which read Marceline the Vampire Queen.

Marceline stepped into the small room for the shade, smiling and looking back down to Finn, when Princess Bubblegum happily skipped over to them. "Finn! I'm so glad to see that you came!" she chirped. "I'm only at the end of the parade, so I was wondering if you'd like to come down and be my bodyguard? We all need them, because most of us have quite a few enemies that coul-"

"Oh, ah, actually PB… I already offered to sit with Marceline in the parade…" Finn said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. Princess Bubblegum stopped, looking confused, and Marceline chuckled and rolled her eyes.

"Oh wow, I thought that the amazing Bonnibel Bubblegum would be smart enough to have already picked her bodyguard before the parade was even planned in the first place. I mean, it was your idea, and all." Marceline teased, before she shrugged. "Just use one of your Royal Guards – you have enough of them."

Princess Bubblegum obviously and undoubtedly did not recognize that Marceline had been teasing her, as she nodded quickly and rushed over to one of her guards. Marceline rolled her eyes and laughed, before Finn stepped up to explore her 'hut.' It was Finn's idea to call the platform-thing a hut, because they both agreed that it was either going to be that, or they would have to call it her 'platform-thing with walls and a roof and windows with curtains and a chair in the middle but no actual doors.' So, they decided that a hut it was.

As the sunlight began to just peek out from behind the hilltops in the distance, Princess Bubblegum finally gave the word, and the parade finally began. The Candy People lined the streets, and there were many other citizens from other kingdoms in attendance too, but Marceline chuckled slightly to herself when she saw there were no vampires, as she knew that most of them probably thought that this was as stupid as she did, and the others wouldn't have wanted to be in the sun. Finn helped with the boredom, though, as he sat against the front wall where Marceline's chair was facing, and he began a game of 'Would You Rather?' to pass the time.

He chuckled to himself slightly. "Would you rather write a bad song that everyone had to hear, or have to be stuck in the Nightosphere for one night?" he asked, obviously proud with himself for the good question.

"Write a bad song." she answered, almost immediately. Finn raised an eyebrow questioningly, and she shrugged. "I would do anything not to be stuck with dad again. I mean, he's my dad and all, but I don't trust him farther than I can throw him after all that amulet stuff… Uh… Would you rather have to slay Jake, or die yourself?"

Finn chuckled, running his fingers through his loose blond hair. "Die. I could never hurt my brother, ever." he replied, and Marceline nodded in respect. He thought for a moment, before a small smile appeared on his lips. "Would you rather have to kiss Jake, or go out with m-"

He couldn't finish his brave question, though, as there was suddenly a loud commotion at the head of the parade and they stopped rather abruptly, causing both of them to stand. Finn immediately moved to look out the window to see what he could see, when something suddenly came down from the sky and crashed into the hut, knocking them both out in separate directions onto the ground. Marceline was knocked far away from Finn, and one of the collapsing walls from her platform toppled right onto her arm. Instinctively, she let out a yell, which made Finn immediately attempt to push himself up to find her, but he suddenly felt too weak and fell back over himself. There was smoke and ash and dust suddenly filling the air, so Finn couldn't even see anyone, and he swore to himself as he tried to push himself up again. Marceline braced herself for the pain as she knew that the dust was going to settle, knowing that the sun would soon be shining down onto all of them, and she had no idea where her umbrella had landed or even if it had survived the attack.

Suddenly, there was another loud bang, and Marceline immediately felt her eyes begin to close, and she panicked as she realized she was going unconscious. What was happening? The last thing that she could remember before she completely blacked out, was the feeling of someone or something whisking her into the air.
