Susan: Hey. I know I should be working on my other stories and stuff, but the last couple of months have been hell for me, and I couldn't focus long enough to actually write anything with plot, which is why I did a little plotless angst, heartbreak poem piece. Alara read it over, but she was a bit distracted, so if there are any mistakes, those are my fault. I hope you enjoy!

Alara: She doesn't own any of the Hetalia characters; they all belong to their owner. She is just messing with them.

Susan: By the way, this is from Matthew's (Canada's) POV. Just thought I'd let you know in case you missed it in the poem. I completely love PruCan as a pairing, I just felt like writing this.

To Fall for a Deceiver

I didn't think you'd stay,

In fact I knew you wouldn't.

But still on that sad and terrible day,

I hoped exactly what I shouldn't.

They had warned me,

Both your brother and mine,

"Mattie, he will always deceive!"

I told them everything would be fine.

I would not fall for you,

The silver-haired player,

With red eyes that never were true,

So I planned to pull back your lying layer.

For once I wanted to hear what's real,

From your lips that always lied.

So those words from you I tried to steal,

Even as my heart slowly died.

I failed in not one,

But all of my quests,

For I fell, and now it's done,

My heart freed from its many chests.

But for some reason now you speak true,

As my heart chases after your love.

"Mattie, I could never love you."

You tell me as I stare like a broken dove.

I didn't think you'd stay,

In fact I knew you wouldn't.

But on that sad and terrible day,

I hoped exactly what I shouldn't.

Susan: I hope you liked it, even though it was sad. Alara gave me a look like I kicked her cat when she finished it, but I thought it came out fairly well. :D
