Rainy Day

Lily Evans was not having a good day.

She had woken up late and missed breakfast. Then she messed up in potion class, a potion that should have been lilac purple had turned to a dull grey. After that she'd forgotten to do her Transfiguration homework.

Sirius Black decided to tease her about being a Head Girl who forgot her homework. She almost lost it. To her surprise, and what she considered credit, Lily hadn't lost it. That is, she hadn't lost it until James Potter, Sirius' best friend and Lily's boyfriend, had decided to join in on her torment. Lily yelled at James every derogatory thing that came to her mind.

Lily then stormed off to the lake in nothing but her shoes, skirt and shirt. She'd been fighting back tears for a while now. Although, Lily knew she wasn't truly mad at James. Lily also knew that James and Sirius' teasing had been good natured.

Then it started pouring. There was no drizzle to warn people to get inside. Though, the gloomy skies had kept most people inside to begin with. Lily didn't want to get soaked but she also didn't want to have to fight hoards of people. She stayed under the tree she was leaning on for a few minutes until the cold rain had soaked her to the bone. She decided to fight the crowd, go to the Head's dorm and take a long, warm bath.

She started her walk back when the rain storm was still raging on before her but the cold rain was no longer touching her. She felt warm material fall around her. She looked up to see James Potter, wrapping her in his cloak, on his broom holding and umbrella above her.

He smiled down at her, "Sorry Doe, I didn't mean to hurt you."

She smiled back at him, hopping onto his broom. James brought the umbrella over both of them.

"James, I'm sorry. I was just have a bad day. I shouldn't have taken it out on you."

"I understand." James said, kissing her.

"You can have your cloak."

"Keep it."

"James..."

"Lily keep it, your white shirt is soaked, and it reveals something that only I want to see."

Lily kissed James, "You know I was thinking about a shower."

"How about a shower for two?"

A/N: Just a little trinket in honor of the final Harry Potter movie. Although it wasn't completely accurate it was still a good movie. "Not my daughter you bitch." Is by far the best line. Soon to come will be James' point of view as well as Snape's. Oh and Doe was a nickname my friend came up with, it refers to Lily's Patronus (I thought Lilykins would be cute. Comment saying which one you like the best as a nickname for Lily: Doe, Lilykins, Lil' Lily and LilyPad.) Hope you enjoyed.
