Across the county citizens were gathered up into town squares and public places. Video screens were raised across the country just like they were for the reapings and annual Hunger Games. This frightened many of the citizens as they feared the games, after all if a rebellion had caused the Hunger Games to start, then what would a rebellion that almost succeeded cause.
The Screens turned on at 8 pm and just like that the eyes of a nation were upon a man who was hated by most, Coriolanus Snow, he looked age and haggard but there was still a fierce aura that emanated from the man.
"Hello citizens of Panem. I bring you tidings of joy as I can announce, as you all know, that another Hunger Games has passed us by this year. This year as punishment for the rebellion lead by District 13, 18 rebellion leaders and 6 honorary tributes were selected by the Capitol to compete in an honorary 75th Hunger Games in replace of the Quarter Quell that was lost."
We now have a victor in the form of Lysene Thar, a rebellion leader from District 11 that survived." Well capitol citizens cheered at the thought of their newest victor, the people in the districts tried to put the idea out of their mind. As a replacement for the 75th Quarter Quell that didn't happen the Capitol gathered rebellion leaders and stuck them in an arena with trained assassins.
Somehow though against all odds an underground rebel who had sent and organized resistance fighters in District 11 was able to overwhelm the final assassin after her allies managed to kill the others.
"The Capitol is furious however, with the fact that children whom we have nurtured and protected would turn on their parents so brutally and attack them violently. For those of you unaware of the attacks on the Capitol let me inform you all."
Many citizens held their breath for they did not know what entirely caused the week long of anarchy and desperately wanted to find out.
"On the eve of the 75th Quarter Quell, when are citizens were confused about the fact that their victors would be dying, the rebels took advantage of the chaos and attacked three primary targets. The gamemakers palace, the tribute building, holding their precious victors, and my own presidential mansion."
The president paused to let this sink in before continuing as much malice in his eyes as ever.
"They managed to take over the former two, killing many good Capitol citizens and holding many other hostages. Luckily for this country however, I was spared due to the protection of my elite guard, many of whom die to whisk me to safety and away from the attack."
"The rebellions in the Capitol were able to be routed in a day, but their actions inspired other treacherous snakes in the districts and so those rebellions had to be put down. It took us a week but we were able to put them all down. All of them." He said this with such conviction that every rebel was dead or captured.
"For the actions of the week long rebellion the Hunger Games will continue, and in time we will punish you with further twists like the Quarter Quells before. But for now the Hunger Games will continue. Good Night Panem."
A Nation was shocked into silence and dread as the podcast ended.
