Thoughts of The Count

Count Dracula wasn't really sure what was going on in the Belmont's head when he helped him take over Castlevania with Mother Brain, who he planned to overthrow eventually.

And he hadn't had a shock like this, since the first Belmont arose to slay him when Simon announced his desire to marry the Zebes ruler. But, since he was a clever man, he took it all in stride and went along with it. If nothing else, it should prove amusing.

He patiently helped Simon and Mother Brain gather his castles' evil residents and helped him with his tuxedo when asked. He hid his disgust at any mention of offspring between the two rather well.

Of course, he agreed to preside over the wedding ceremony in the beautiful chapel of his home, again for his entertainment more than anything else.

So when the N Team burst in and told Mother Brain that he had been shot by a Love Arrow it all made sense, as the Count had begun to wonder if the infamous monster hunter had lost his mind along with his family's prestigious reputation. The Count preferred to keep his own image of a powerful, formidable enemy intact and fighting an insane, lovesick Simon to the death would not be much of a victory in his opinion.

His amusement for the day over, he allowed Simon to defeat him and went off to attend to much more important affairs. One figuring out how to destroy the Belmont line for good, and another to figure out a way to dispose of Mother Brain and her idiot minions.
