Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Put Upon Percy" from Season 5. Enjoy and comment.
One morning, Percy puffed crossly into the yards. He was feeling "put upon"
"I feel put upon!" he complained to Thomas.
Thomas was confused.
"Put upon what?" he asked.
"Put upon with work!" replied Percy. "Driver feels the same way too!"
"What a silly say!" replied Thomas.
But Annie and Clarabel liked it, and began to sing.
"Percy's been put upon, put upon, put upon. Percy's been put upon, poor old Percy!"
"I am being put upon!" said Percy as he puffed away.
Throughout the day, Percy collected metal from the foundry, coal from the yards, flour from the mills, rock from the quarry, and fuel from the depot.
Then, he delivered it all to the docks.
Next, he collected some empty freight cars.
"Look at this dirty little green engine!" teased the freight cars. "We like clean engines, like Thomas or Duck!"
Percy just ignored them.
"Put upon, put upon, that's exactly what I am!"
That night, all the engines laughed at him.
"We clearly see what's been put upon you!" said Thomas.
Just then, Sir Topham Hatt arrived.
"SILENCE!" he called.
He then turned to Percy.
"Percy, you've worked hard all day. Get some rest, so you can be useful again tomorrow."
"Yes sir. Thank you sir." replied Percy.
Next morning, he took some freight cars to the coal yards.
Afterwards, he had to take some empty freight cars to the mine shaft.
When he arrived, the foreman spoke to Percy's driver.
"The freight cars are jammed in the mechanism. All they need is a good push!"
"We'll do it right away!" said his driver.
Then, Percy charged at the freight cars, with a mighty push!
But he pushed them too hard!
"Oh no!" gasped Percy.
The freight cars were out of control!
"On, on, on!" laughed the foolish freight cars.
Then, there was trouble. The freight cars crashed into a beam!
Disaster then struck! A warning beacon sounded loudly!
"Get out of here fast!" called a workman. "The mine is collapsing!
"We'll have to make a run for it!" called Percy's driver.
"There's going to be a avalanche!" wailed Percy.
And, he was right!
The track began to crumble, and rocks began sliding!
"HELP!" cried Percy.
Then, Percy remembered something he had seen earlier.
"There's a barrier behind the track!"
They hid, just in time!
Luckily, no one was hurt, but Percy, his driver and fireman were buried under the rubble.
"There's an engine and his crew underneath the rubble!" shouted the foreman.
"We must help them!" called the workmen.
When Percy and his crew were rescued, Sir Topham Hatt spoke to them.
"You were very brave Percy! As a reward, you will get a new coat of paint, and a nice washdown!"
"Thank you sir!" said Percy.
When Percy returned, he looked shinier than ever.
"I'm sorry for teasing you." said Thomas. "You were sure put-upon by that avalanche!"
"Yes indeed!" replied Percy. "But just look at my new coat of paint!"
Percy felt really happy.
