I sat beside her, stroking her hair. Nervously, I looked at my watch.
8.45pm
Right, I thought to myself, You can do this.
Slowly, I looked at her. She looked so beautiful. She's always gorgeous, but there was something about the way the moonlight hit her face, making her look glorious. We were sitting on the beach at la push. The tide wasn't far away, but we were fine for the moment. Sighing, I pulled a lock of hair behind her ear. She turned to look at me, with a slight frown on her face.
"What?" She asked me, wrapping herself more tightly to my side.
"Nothing."
"Then why did you sigh?"
I laughed silently.
"I'm just happy to be here. I'm the luckiest person in the world to be here with you." I told her quietly, wrapping both my arms around her, but not so tightly as to suffocate her.
"I don't deserve you." I whispered into her hair, whilst I kissed her head. She leaned back, her head against my chest.
"Are you cold?" I panicked, getting a spare blanket out of my bag and wrapping it around her.
" I'm fine, silly. It's hard to get cold when you're sitting next to a werewolf." She laughed. I smiled at her.
"Well, It's quite a cold night." I argued, playfully.
"It's a beautiful night." She whispered, staring up at the sky. It really was. The stars were shining, dimly compared to the glistening, silvery orb, that hung in the middle of the sky. I laughed softly.
"I thought you'd like it." Taking hold of her hand, I asked. "Do you wanna dance?" She turned to face me.
"With no music, and no shoes?" She asked, laughing. I laughed with her.
"Is there any other way?"
"Your right. I'd love to." She laughed. I stood up, and pulled her with me. I put my arms around her waist, as she reached up to put hers around my neck. I laughed as she stood on her tip toes to reach.
"Need a bit of help?" I asked, lifting her up and holding her there. She giggled as I kissed her nose.
"You know, this is more you swaying than us dancing." She said.
"Do you want down?" I asked her kissing her nose again.
"No chance." We smiled at each other. We 'danced' for about 5 minutes, then I set her down. I bent down and kissed her gently on the lips. We smiled at each other for about a minute more. Then she turned her head to the sea and sighed.
"The tides coming in. We should probably go home." She said, sadly. I put my arms around her and pulled her into a hug.
"What's wrong?" I asked her worriedly.
"Nothing. I just don't want to leave." She sighed.
"It's okay. But before we leave, I have to ask you something." I said, taking a deep breath to calm myself. If we were going now, I would have to do it now.
"What?" she asked, frowning slightly. "What's wrong?"
"I bend down slightly, so that I was closer to her level.
"Claire, I've loved you ever since the day I met you. Literally. Even thought I met when you were two." We laughed together, remembering the first time I'd tried to explain that. " You are Stunningly beautiful, that prettiest girl I've ever seen, your funny, you have the kindest heart ever, your friendly, you are totally fine with me being a werewolf and you know exactly how to cheer me up. I love you Claire, with all my heart. I want us to spend the rest of our lives together." I told her. I put my hand into my pocket and took out the hand made Quilette ring.
"Oh my god." She whispered, putting her hand over her mouth as I got down on one knee.
"Claire. Will you marry me?" I asked her. She was laughing and crying at the same time.
"Yes. Of course." She laughed, getting down on her knees as well, and kissing me. I kissed her back, laughing. When we broke apart she was till crying.
"I love you, Quil Aterra."She laughed, her hands around my neck.
" I love you too, Claire Aterra." We laughed together. I'd never been that happy. I could feel my heart swelling, and I was ecstatic.
I smiled at her, and we kissed again. I was in heaven.
