Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Henry to the Rescue" from Season 1, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.

Gordon felt proud because he was the only engine big enough to pull the big Express train. It was always full of important people, like Sir Topham Hatt. He wanted to see how fast he could go.

"Hurry, hurry, hurry!" he said.

"Tickety tock, tickety tock, tickety tock!" said the coaches.

Soon Gordon approached the tunnel where Henry stood bricked up and lonely.

"Oh dear!" thought Henry, "why did I worry about the rain spoiling my lovely coat of green paint? I am sorry and would like to come out of the tunnel, but I don't know how to ask!"

"I'm going to toot my whistle loudly at Henry!" said Gordon.

He was almost there, when suddenly, Gordon started going slower and slower, in a cloud of steam! His driver managed to stop the train.

"What has happened to me?" asked Gordon. "I feel so weak!"

"You've burst your safety valve from going too fast!" said the driver. "You can't pull the train anymore!"

"Oh dear!" said Gordon. "We were going so nicely too! And now Henry is laughing at us!"

Later, Sir Topham Hatt arrived, very cross.

"I can't trust you Gordon to run your route, so send for another engine at once!" he said.

While the conductor went to find one, they uncoupled Gordon, who had enough puff to move onto the siding, out of the way.

The only engine left in the shed was Edward.

"I'll come and try!" he puffed.

"Edward can't push that train!" said Gordon.

Edward puffed and pushed and puffed and pulled, but he couldn't move the heavy coaches!

"I told you so!" said Gordon. "Why don't you let Henry try?"

"Yes I will!" said Sir Topham Hatt.

"Will you help pull this train Henry?" he asked.

"Oh yes sir!" said Henry.

They took down the brick wall, and when Henry had enough steam, he puffed out, very dirty and covered in cobwebs.

"I am stiff, I am stiff!" he groaned.

"Have a run to ease your joints, and find a turntable!" said Sir Topham Hatt.

When Henry came back, he felt much better.

Then, they coupled him up.

"I'm ready!" said Edward.

"I'm ready too!" said Henry.

"Pull hard, we'll do it, pull hard, we'll do it!" puffed the two engines.

Soon they were pulling the heavy coaches.

"We've done it together, we've done it together!" said Edward and Henry.

"You've done it hurray, you've done it hurray!" sang the coaches.

Everyone cheered! Sir Topham Hatt leaned out the window to wave at Edward and Henry, but the train was going so fast, that his hat blew off into a field, where a goat ate it for dinner!

They didn't stop 'till they reached the station at the end of the line.

"Thank you!" said the passengers.

"As a reward for pulling the heavy train, I'm giving each of you a new coat of paint!" said Sir Topham Hatt.

The two engines felt very pleased with themselves.

On their way home, they helped Gordon back to the sheds. All three engines are now great friends, and Henry doesn't mind the rain anymore, because he knows the only way to keep his paint clean is to ask his driver for a washdown when the day is done.
