Harry walked into the lab to find it empty apart from one person sitting hunched over her desk, her shoulders shaking at she cried into her hands. His heart breaking slightly at seeing Nikki that way Harry walked over to where she was and crouched down next to her, gently taking one of her hands in his as she cried.
"Sorry" she sniffed as she wiped her face with her free hand "My dad, you know"
Harry just nodded and studied her as she cried, even with tear tracks on her face and her mascara running she looked beautiful and Harry felt his heart jump in his chest.
"Come here" he whispered, gently pulling her to the floor with him and wrapped his arms around Nikki's waist as she buried her face in his chest and sobbed. Clinging to his shirt as though her life depended on it, her body shook in his arms and he wanted to cry with her. Pressing a kiss onto the top of her head he rubbed her back gently and whispered soothing words in her ear to try and calm her down.
"Why...does he...always..do it..to me?" Nikki sobbed quietly and Harry ran one hand over her hair.
"Don't think about him" he whispered and looked down at her "You know Nikki it breaks my heart to see you like this, you know I'd do anything to protect you"
Nikki just let out another sob when she heard this and nodded, she knew what Harry would do for her but just hearing him say it made it even more real.
"Will you come home with me tonight?" Harry asked quietly "I don't want you to be alone in the state you are in"
"I'd like that" Nikki nodded against his chest and Harry smiled at pressed a kiss onto her forehead, his lips lingering longer than normal. They then just sat on the lab floor in each other's arms, content.
I was having a rant to my mum the other day about how Nikki's dad just disrupts her life and this popped into my head because the ending of that episode really wasn't shippy enough..especially when Leo interrupted..yet again. XD. I forget what the episode is called...that makes me feel such a bad !
