Same Old Story
Bella and Jacob – He can't let go of his love for her, and she Doesn't love Edward the same – not Since Italy, not since he left her broken.
While they Dance
How she holds him
Pulls him close
And loves him so
While he dreams of another
And Counts the days
Until he lets her go
Jacob sighed. Anne was beautiful, definitely.
Smart – undeniably
But not Bella.
She squeezed him tighter as they spun around the room for their Senior Prom, to some generic love song that has been palyed every year since it's creation at parties just like this one.
But it isn't Anne he sees at night in his dreams, it never has been.
He know she hasn't been fair to her – but who can compare to Bella?
He'd counting down the days until he can let Anne go – only two more.
Not that he'd get a better offer, not since Bella isn't there.
But he saw the way she walked away with Edward – he was basically dragging her. She didn't want to leave.
But he couldn't stop her, stop him.
And so he twirls Anne one more time.
Same old story
That everybody knows
It's one heart holdin' on
One letting go
But he could see her this weekend – they had a secret meeting planned
If all went well, he could have Bella finally
While they ride
Lord, he tells her
How they two
Will settle down
But she only hear the highway
And a voice
In some other town
Edward took her horse-back riding that day. The day of Jakes Graduation Ceremony. He took her to a hill to show her where the house will be, where they will settle down and live forever.
He paints such a pretty life for her.
But, really, she's only listening to the highway, listening for one particular sound, the sound of one VW Rabbit.
The osund she would know anywhere if she never heard it again in her life.
The sound of Jake – her Jake.
And she strains to hear his voice from the here, knowing she can't.
He's in another town at the moment.
But still she tries.
And the harder
He holds her
The more she slips away
The wedding is planned for the weekend after next.
His grasp on her is tightening. She isn't sure whether she wants it or not anymore.
What happens if your soul-mate wasn't perfect for you?
What if, the one who is perfect for you, hates you?
And Edward tightens his grip once more on her hand, leading her away.
But the more he leads her, the more her heart slips away to La Push, to Jacob.
Same old story
That everybody knows
It's one heart holdin' on
One letting go.
They meet up that Saturday.
No words are spoken, because none are needed
She hugs him tightly, and he hugs her back, just as fiercely.
"Do you still love me?" She whispers.
"Always."
"Cos I love you,"
And together, they ride away into the night – leaving behind everything, not caring.
Their hearts are together at last.
