AN; Yay, my first one-shot! Why are they all sad? That's my only question. Oh, well, I could only think of this one, so, enjoy!
Disclaimer; I don't own Warrior cats
Cinderpelt floated in the ThunderClan camp, watching the ceremony. Bramblestar was sending Firestar on his way to StarClan and choosing his new deputy. The Clan was silent, and tension snapped like lightning in the cool air. Leaf-bare was quickly approaching, and the kits huddled close to their mother's stomach. A ginger-furred body lay in the clearing, its mouth open as if screaming for help, but its open eyes still calm and dull. This cat was dead. It had died saving its Clan from an evil one, but went more peacefully than most. This cat was Firestar.
"May you have good hunting, swift running, and shelter where you sleep," Bramblestar finished. "May you love for your Clan light the way to StarClan. May you find there all that you have lost." The brown tabby tom dipped his head and went silent. When he flicked his tail, cats began to approach the body and whisper last goodbyes. Cinderpelt watched as the fluffy gray she-cat touched her nose to his shoulder and whispered something she couldn't catch.
When every cat had whispered goodbye, a pale soul much like Cinderpelt but brighter, floated up from his body. The ghost image of Firestar got up as well, but walked into the stars. The soul stayed on the ground. Cinderpelt floated over to it. "I am Cinderpelt," she said, glowing brightly. Her voiced sounded as if it echoed, but it was still very clear. "I am here to teach you to watch over your Clanmates like a StarClan cat."
The other soul did not speak. It seemed it did not know how. Cinderpelt turned to look up on the ridges of the hollow. She say a black colored soul sitting there, waiting. "Oh, Hollyleaf, please come down!" Cinderpelt called. "You must help me teach Firestar's soul!"
Hollyleaf's soul turned and floated down. It didn't look very happy to be there. "Hello, Firestar," it muttered, though its voice still echoed. "Welcome, new soul, to the land of souls. As you can see, there are many of us here. Every soul that there ever was is here, except for the evil souls. They go far into the earth and do not ever emerge. Now, you must try and speak, or we will not know anything about you."
Firestar's soul let out a muffled cough. "I'm F-f-firestar," it stammered. Its voice was clearly finding it hard to get through the barrier. "Why am I not in StarClan with my ghost-image? Shouldn't I be there? I thought that was where souls went, with their ghost-images, to StarClan."
Cinderpelt sighed. This was going to be a long night. "If a soul stays with its ghost-image or original body, then the cat will become alive again," she said. "That is bad because every cat only gets one chance to live. I am an incomplete soul, because Cinderheart has half of my soul, and all of hers. She is me, but I am not her."
Firestar's soul looked confused. It seemed to shrug it off. "I am ready to become apart from myself," it said. "I will gladly stay a soul."
AN; I hope you guys liked it! It's basically Cinderpelt's feelings after Firestar's death, and it explains what happened to Firestar's soul. Also, it says it, not he or she, because the souls really don't have genders since they are not the original cats. Well, I'll post more later! Until then, Peace! And Happy German Thursday!
