Summary: Forget C/7, this is one of my many post-Endgame fantasies. This particular one is based around my favorite time of the day...

Disclaimers: You and I both know that I don't own Star Trek, as much as I would love to claim so... (sigh)... instead I have to make do by correcting the mistakes that TPTB managed to make...

Dedications: A double drabble for my unique beta, who has never seen this one before either.

[P.S.- this is the serious one.]

Kathryn Janeway looked out at the horizon and smiled up at the sky. It was a sky that belonged to a planet she had once endeavored to forget, and never could.

How could I ever deny my feelings for him?

She was so caught up in her thoughts that she failed to hear the heavy footsteps behind her. Two strong hands were placed on each of her small shoulders and she closed her eyes, allowing herself to become lost in the sensation of his gentle touch.

"I thought you had forgotten."

"Never," she choked, her voice no more than a low whisper.

She turned to look at him, the man whose love she had been denying herself for too long. She brought her hands up to his face, cupping both of his cheeks. His arms wrapped themselves around her and she was enveloped in his embrace.

As their lips touched for the first time in too long, the sun rose behind them and the sky exploded with every imaginable color.

And with the breaking of a new day on Earth came the beginning of a new life for Kathryn Janeway and the man she had loved for seven long years.

Any and all comments welcome. AK :)
