Unfair comparison

Sasuke and Ino have more in common than you might think. For one thing, they both have great hair. Very different from one another's, but both great in their own ways.

Ino's is long, and silky, and a gorgeous (albeit doubtfully natural) shade of light blonde. She takes great pride in it, but loves for me to braid it for her. She doesn't even mind if I pull it a little too hard. She knows I won't damage it, so long as she watches her mouth. Sasuke's on the other hand is black. Some might call it 'Raven'. It's spiked in the back, and frames his face quite sexily in the front. I've never really touched it before, but its probably stiff, and weighted down by gel. I'm somewhat curious, but he throws a hissy fit whenever someone tries to touch it.

Another thing they have in common is strength. Both of them seem to surpass all expectations. Well, Sasuke's strength was rather expected of him I suppose. He is from the Uchiha clan after all. They're all gone now besides him and his brother, but I hear they were great once. One of the best in Konoha.

Ino's family is respected, but not exactly famous. Her father is a good man and a great shinobi who would protect the village with his life, but he is just a regular guy. Nothing too special really. Ino is still a great ninja who always tries her best and works hard, despite not exactly being a born genius, plus her slight handicap that goes by the name of 'female'.

Also, they both seem a bit on the queer side. Somehow I don't think Ino ever liked Sasuke at all. Maybe a passing crush, but she doesn't seem that interested in him nowadays.

As far as Sasuke goes; well, everyones always tried to tell me that he's probably like that, but I never did believe them. Now, I'm not so sure. He seems awfully concerned with his appearance, and he and Naruto have been caught in plenty of compromising posistions. I keep telling Kakashi-sensei that they shouldn't be able to share a tent on missions, but Kakashi-sensei just smirks and dismisses it.

Ino and Sasuke also have a lot of things about them that are different. For one thing, both of them use their talents for different reasons.

I remember back in the academy when Ino used her popularity to help me come out of my shell. If it weren't for her, I'd still have ugly bangs to cover my forehead, and I'd be to shy to ever talk to anyone. I owe her for my confidence.

Sasuke uses all of his strength for revenge. At first I thought it was cool, but now, I think its a bit silly. He's never going to be able to kill Itachi, and I realize that now. I've heard quite a bit about that guy, and let me tell you; he's not exactly someone you ask to watch your cat while you're away.

One more important difference.

Namely, Ino is interested in me, and Sasuke isn't. I keep telling myself that he'll come around, but if he hasn't yet, I don't think he ever will. He's resisted all my advances since I was twelve. I thought it was because I was ugly, but now I'm pretty sure its just because he's a homo. Thank god I'm not as ugly as I thought I was. Ino sure doesn't think so.

I may not be gay like them, but for Ino, I think I'll make an exeption.
