South Island 25 Years Later

A Sonic The Hedgehog One Shot:

He lit the candle looking to the side, he saw his wife her eye half open, just a string from falling asleep. He saw her tiredness make her slip away, and compulsively tapped her back, as he had been for hours. "Don't fall asleep Ames.. You know what will happen.." he said quietly as the moon shone upon her crooked back. She lightly smiled, "Silly..I'll never leave you forever." And he held deeply onto those words.. as she tossed and turned in agony. The breathing had just stopped, as her dry cardiovascular system ceased it's malfunctioning, shriveling up in between the crevices of her chest. He tapped her lightly.. and yelled angrily at the moonlight sky, cursing the name of Mother Maria. He picked her up gently, and layed her down in between a crack in the land, watching her with awe as if he had first layed his tired eyes upon her. He left her blanket on the top of her torso, and walked quietly to the back of the local pub, he would beg if he had to. But they had nothing to give him. So, he took up his ring pouch and with the money he had left, bought himself a candy bar, and drank few drops of contaminated water from the stream. Things sure had changed since Robotnik was put out of commission, and he couldn't keep his mind off of what would have happened if he were still alive. The main concern of the thoughts that were inside of his mind right now were, 'Would she still be alive?' 'Would I still be King?' 'She, my Queen?' He spit at the ground, questioning the fact if at this point it was possible to know. He wanted to figure it out though, and he left, holding his arms around himself in the cold winter breeze, headed to a certain, intelligent little brother's house.
