Kagome laid in the birthing room. She was in labor. "My dearest." She breathed, reaching for what was left of the moon.

The guards of the mansion they were staying at had surrounded the premises. Inuyasha ran as fast as he could to her, because he found out that somebody else was going to see Kagome, but it wasn't to congratulate her. "Master Inuyasha, Koga has gotten stronger and he will kill you. Please don't go!" Myoga begged, remembering what had happened to Inuyasha's father. "Please I don't want to see the same thing happen to you that happened to your father."

"I can't lose Kagome, especially not now and not to Koga!" Inuyasha said and kept running. "I won't lose her. I can't." Inuyasha told him, tears streaming down his face at the thought of losing his wife and new born child. His speed picked up, and he stopped at the top of a hill and looked down at the mansion. Koga walked out of the walls. Inuyasha filled his lungs and howled. Koga looked up and smiled as Inuyasha bore his fangs at him.

"Hey mutt face, at least her last words were 'I love Inuyasha', be happy." Koga laughed. Inuyasha roared and leapt at Koga, Tetsusaiga drawn.

"You bastard!" Inuyasha growled. He quickly cut at Koga's arm and it fell to the ground. Koga whimpered on the ground. Inuyasha ran into the mansion and Koga turned to the guards.

"Burn the mansion to the ground!" Koga yelled. The guards shot flaming arrows at the mansion, which soon caught fire. Inuyasha quickly ran to the birthing room.

"Kagome!" he yelled.

"Inu… yasha?" a quiet voice called out. He ran through the curtain and stopped, seeing Kagome holding a pup in a blanket. "Koga missed." She smiled, her voice stricken by the smoke of the fire. He smiled back and looked at the pup. Suddenly they heard the door open and the curtain fell. Koga stood with his sword in his only hand.

"Inutaisho." Inuyasha said.

"What?" Koga asked.

"The pup's name is Inutaisho. It was my father's name." he told Kagome. She nodded as he put the robe of the fire rat around her shoulders. "Now run!" He yelled as he clashed swords with Koga. Kagome rushed out of the mansion and into the woods. Once she was out of the mansion she stopped. An apparition stood in front of her.

"Kagome, do not fear me. It is I, Izayoi. I am Inuyasha's mother, and I was in your exact situation." She said.

"But didn't Inuyasha's dad die in this situation?" Kagome asked. Izayoi smiled.

"Yes, and that is why he is showing Inuyasha the way out and back to you. So his grandson does not have to go through what he let his son went through." Izayoi said, pointing to the mansion. Kagome looked to see Inuyasha and another figure jump out of the flames. Inuyasha landed next to Kagome and embraced her softly as not to hurt the pup.

"Kagome." He said, holding her. He pulled away and looked at the other figure that stood by Izayoi. "Thank you, father." He said. His father nodded and embraced Izayoi. The two disappeared. Inuyasha looked on and Kagome looked at them as they disappeared.

"Good-bye mother and father." She said, and Inuyasha smiled and kissed her head. He looked down at his pup and carefully took him away from Kagome.

"Let's get him back to Kaede's." He said. She nodded and got on his back and he darted away with Inutaisho in his arms. Kagome looked back and smiled. Inuyasha smiled at Inutaisho. "I'm here for you, son. I will always be here for you."
