On a very hot summer day, Otori discovered a collapsed and panting Hoshitani on the outdoor stage.
"Oi! You OK?" Otori asks, concerned for his kohai's health. "Hm… tired…" Hoshitani mumbles.
Otori sighs, and picks up his kohai, carrying him on piggyback to the infirmary.
Once there, he carefully lets Hoshitani off, and into a bed. After putting a cold towel on his forehead, Otori attempts to leave, but is stopped by a hand grabbing and tugging on his sleeve.
"Don't leave…" Hoshitani mumbles, eyes hazy but awake. Otori smiles, "Alright," and sits down next to him.
"Is the heat getting to you? Is that why you collapsed today?" Otori asks, genuinely curious.
Hoshitani softly smiles, his voice soft, "I've been practicing by myself until late, and haven't gotten much sleep for the past five weeks. Also, when I'm quiet, my physical condition worsens."
Otori blinks at the explanation, "You have been unusually quiet for a while, but five weeks without rest? Are you sure you're OK?"
Hoshitani giggles, "I'm fine. Just need a goodnight's sleep, and to yell loudly tomorrow."
Otori softly smiles, "Don't worry me like that again. Now, get some rest. Coach's orders."
Hoshitani smiles back, "Hai. … But, will you stay? At least until I fall asleep?"
Smiling at the request, Otori says, "Sure." He pets Hoshitani's head, watching him slowly fall asleep.
Once he was sure his kohai was asleep, Otori quietly goes out of the room, smiling as he looks back at his sleeping (and cute) kohai.
The next day, at practice, Hoshitani was back and full of energy, yelling loudly. And Otori wouldn't have it any other way.
