Prompt 14: Dormitory
Gringotts Prompt Bank: Assorted Proverbs 4 - Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned
Rage
"He is the vilest, most stupid git I have ever met," Lavender cried as she set about destroying as many of Ron Weasley's possessions she could before any of the other boys came back to their dormitory. "Why does he want her? Why was I not good enough?"
It was true what they said: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
She smashed another of his stupid objects against the wall, her rage and fury intensifying more and more.
As Lavender picked up the chain she had bought Ron for Valentine's Day, her anger quickly dissipated and she was reduced to nothing but tears. Parvati moved from where she had been standing by the door and towards her best friend and embraced her tightly.
"What's wrong with me?" she sobbed as the tears began to come thick and fast. "We were so happy, and now all he wants is Hermione."
"Shhh, Lav there's nothing wrong with you," Parvati whispered comfortingly as she rubbed her friend's back. "Sometimes relationships don't work out. You will get over him in time I promise. Remember you said that to me when Seamus and I broke up last year, and you were right. Look at me now."
Lavender lifted her head off Parvati's shoulder, and realised she was right. Parvati had been a mess when Seamus had broken up with her, but she had been alright and in that moment Lavender realised that so would she.
