First fic. Tell me what you think.

This story was inspired by "QUIET WORLD" by Jeffrey McDaniel. I do not Own the poem or characters. Now read and review. :D in souls pov.

In an effort to get people to look
into each other's eyes more,
and also to appease the mutes,
the government has decided
to allot each person exactly one hundred
and sixty-seven words, per day.

"On the order of the government of the US, from now on all residents of death city are only allowed one hundred and sixty-seven words per day. You cannot save words for the next day, and to insure everyone uses no more than one hundred and sixty-seven words a day, we will put these bracelets on each of you to day."

And that's how it all started. Our world became a silent movie.

When the phone rings, I put it to my ear
without saying hello. In the restaurant
I point at chicken noodle soup.
I am adjusting well to the new way.

Ring…. Ring… Ring… I let the phone ring exactly tree times before I answer. I raised it up to my ear I breathe to let them know I was there. That's how you say hello over the phone without acutely saying hello. On the other side of the phone was Tsubaki, a good friend of mine, She asked me to have dinner at her father's restaurant. I responded with a simple… "Yes." Arriving at the restaurant, Tsubaki leads me to our table. When the waiter comes, I point at the chicken noodle soup. Life has become a silent movie. Only once in a while you hear someone talk, But the city is adjusting well and so am I.

Late at night, I call my long distance lover; and
proudly say I only used fifty-nine today.
I saved the rest for you.

When I get home after the dinner, I get changed into more comfy close and call my long distance lover. I hear the phone ring. Once…twice… three… until she picks up. I can hardly contain my excitement and I proudly say in to the phone "I only used fifty- nine today." I paused a little to regain the confidents to talk "I saved the rest for you"

When she doesn't respond,
I know she's used up all her words,
so I slowly whisper I love you
thirty-two and a third times.
After that, we just sit on the line
and listen to each other breathe

I listen patently waiting to hear the long waited sound of her voice. After a minute of silence I know she used up her words for today. I get an idea and start to whisper in to the phone thirty-two and a third times. "I love you… I love you… I love you…I love you…"
