Then Suddenly Something Changes
Love has a habit of hitting you like a ton of bricks. Squid/Squill. Squill's POV. Dedicated to Marih Dimitri and other supporters.

Again, for the anniversary. Yes, I'm so unoriginal.
Disclaimer: Neither of the two cephalopods are mine. If they were, I'd make 'em make out so bad.

Love has a habit
of hitting you
like a ton of bricks.

You know how it is.
You're just sitting there
next to that guy you know,
the one you've always secretly liked,
and you're just doing whatever it is
that interests you,

you know,
talking,
playing,
joking,
a little flirt from time to time.

Then from little to big flirt,
then to hug,
maybe a kiss,
but all still very innocent.

THEN

SUDDENLY

SOMETHING

CHANGES

and you're
passionately making out
in the men's toilets,
pants tight,
with only the reflections in the mirror
knowing you're there,

and you're
yearning for the day
the protection laws of illegal sex
don't apply to you anymore
so that you can share what you have
in a new way,

and you're
internally worrying
when he isn't there,
snapping at every individual
who dares to question you in your current state of mind
as you what you want for dinner;

and you're,
in a nutshell,
very much in love.

That's a bit like what happened
with us, Squiddy.
All those years ago,
we were experiencing this for ourselves.

And you know something?

I can't wait for the day
that we're just doing whatever it is
that interests us
together

and we're thinking
of how it used to be,

THEN

SUDDENLY

SOMETHING

CHANGES

and we're

making out
and making love
and making fun
and making beautiful music together
again,

just like we used to.
