Chapter 1:

Konoha, Evening….

"Naruto, I'd like you to meet your distant cousin, Hokuto Uzumaki." Hiruzen said as he presented a small girl of five years old to a six year old Naruto Uzumaki.

Hokuto had short faded pink/gray hair and her skin was very pale. She wore a simple set of shorts, shirt, and sandals.

But what stood out the most about her were her eyes.

Her left eye was red with a black pupil while the right eye was black with a red pupil.

"Seriously…?" Naruto asked timidly as he looked at Hiruzen with hopeful and fear filled eye.

"Yes Naruto, Hokuto is your cousin." Hiruzen said. "Her parents recently passed and when we found her we took her to the doctor to have her in the records and we found out she shares the same blood as your family."

"Really?" Naruto asked as he looked at Hokuto.

She shifted in her place and gripped Hiruzen's hand tightly as she looked to the ground before she nodded.

Hokuto's eyes widened when she felt arms wrap around her and pull her into Naruto's body as he had tears flowing from his eyes.

'Finally,' he thought while he held the pale girl. 'I have family.'

Hiruzen smiled as he saw Hokuto slowly wrap her arms around Naruto, very unsure of what she needed to do.

'I hope this can help you Naruto.' Hiruzen thought as he remembered an earlier conversation they had a month earlier.

Flashback…

Hiruzen's eyes widened as he looked at Naruto.

He was at Naruto's apartment to give him the monthly stipend and was asked a shocking question.

"What did you say Naruto?"

"Why don't I have parents like everyone else?" The child shouted, tears forming in his eyes. "Why does everyone hate me? I don't understand. Please tell me why I'm not loved?"

Hiruzen felt his heart crack at the pained expression on Naruto's face. However, he steeled himself and made his face neutral.

"Your parents died after you were born." He said calmly.

"WHY CAN'T I BE LOVED THEN?" Naruto asked as he started to cry. "I see all the other children playing with friends and family, yet I don't have either of them. I just want to have love, yet I can't have it."

Hiruzen kept his façade up as he held back his tears and comforted the young boy.

Skip…

Hiruzen sat at his desk, his Kage hat off to the side as he did paperwork.

His mind, however, was distracted by what Naruto said.

'I need to do something.' Hiruzen thought. 'I need to help him get a friend. But I can't force anyone in the village to do it because of the Kyubi, they won't listen.'

An old memory of a young child emerged in Hiruzen's mind.

'Wait,' he thought. 'That could work.'

End Flashback….

Hokuto, having been released from Naruto's hug looked up at Hiruzen with her distant eyes.

"Am I… going to stay here?" She asked softly.

She closed her eyes as a hand patted her hair.

"Yes, you will be staying with your cousin." Hiruzen said as he looked from Hokuto to Naruto who was running around the apartment like an idiot yelling about how happy he was having family.

"Naruto."

Said blonde stopped what he was doing and looked at Hiruzen.

"Because Hokuto is going to live here, you will be getting a bigger stipend and will have to get a second bed." He said as he handed Naruto a slightly bigger manila envelope. "I'll be by tomorrow with one for Hokuto to sleep on. So tonight you will have to share."

Naruto nodded happily.

"Alright then," Hiruzen said as he removed his hand from Hokuto's head. "I must be off. I'll be back tomorrow."

He turned to Hokuto and handed her a leather book.

"Be sure to read this and let me know when you are done." He said as he got a nod of assurance from the girl.

Hiruzen smiled and left the children in the apartment.

Naruto walked up to her and took her hand. He blushed a bit when he felt how soft her hand was in his.

"Come on, let's go get something to eat." He said with a massive smile.

Hokuto's head tilted as she looked at him. Her face held no emotion.

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"To Ichiraku!"

Ichiraku Ramen Bar…

Naruto slurped up his fifth bowl of ramen while Hokuto ate her only bowl slowly.

"Ah…." Naruto sighed in satisfaction, patting his large stomach. "That was delicious. What do you think Hokuto?"

Hokuto looked up to see Ayame and Teuchi looking at her with smiles on their faces.

"It is filling."

Ayame's smile twitched.

'She is so… off.' Ayame thought. 'She should have more expression and happiness. She seems like she has had nothing to feel at all.'

"Well at least you liked it." Teuchi said with a laugh as he handed Naruto his bill.

Naruto paid it and soon he and Hokuto were walking back to their apartment holding hands to not get separated.

"Look over there."

"What is she doing getting close to that boy?"

"I don't know but it must have done something to her to get her to be with him."

"Look at her eyes!"

Naruto and Hokuto heard whispers of the citizens of Konoha and both were confused.

Naruto felt sadness as he tightened his grip on her hand.

"Naruto, are you alright?" Hokuto asked blankly.

"Yeah." Naruto said as he picked up the pace and pulled Hokuto home as quick as possible.

The two children got to the apartment without trouble and prepared for bed.

Naruto lay on the bed next to the wall with Hokuto, who was wearing one of his over-large shirts, lay next to him.

"Night Hokuto…" Naruto whispered as he put an arm around her and closed his eyes with a smile.

Hokuto said nothing as she stared blankly at his peaceful sleep and soon fell asleep herself, snuggling into his warm body.

Next Morning…

Naruto woke up the next day alone in his bed.

'Was it all a dream?' he thought as he looked around for Hokuto in his room, his head hanging down in sadness. 'I knew it was too good to be true. I don't have any family.'

He rolled out of bed and made his way to the kitchen.

"Morning Naruto."

Naruto stopped in his tracks when he saw Hokuto sitting at the table, the book that Hiruzen gave her the night before open in front of her and a large amount of paper and a pen next to her.

Naruto lunged and wrapped his arms around her.

"YOU WEREN'T A DREAM!" Naruto yelled as he held her tightly.

"I don't understand." Hokuto stated.

"I thought…I thought you were a dream." Naruto said as he let her go and wiped away his tears. "I was so happy to know I have family, and when I did not see you earlier I thought it was something I imagined."

Hokuto looked at him passively.

She reached up and placed her hand on top of his head and ruffled his unruly blonde hair.

"I'm right here." She stated. "I'm not going anywhere."

Naruto snuffled a bit and then smiled.

"Thank you Hokuto." He said.

"For what?" she asked confused.

"For being alive." Naruto said. "If you weren't I'd still be alone."

Hokuto felt something.

She felt… happiness. She felt… wanted.

"I won't leave you." She said as she removes her hand from Naruto's head.

Hokuto then grabbed the pen and a piece of paper and looked at the book.

"What are you doing?" Naruto asked as he pulled up a chair and say next to her.

"I'm practicing Fuinjutsu." Hokuto responded.

Naruto tilted his head as he watched Hokuto draw a sealing matrix.

"Can I try?" He asked as he say how nice it looked compared to the one in the book.

"Go ahead." Hokuto said as she handed him the pen, paper and turned the book for him to look at so he could draw it.

Several minutes passed before Naruto was crying in disappointment as he failed dozens of times to draw the seal as well as Hokuto.

"It's fine Naruto." Hokuto said as she comforted him blandly. "It takes practice."

"B..(sniff) you were…. (sniff) able to do it easily." Naruto stated as he continued to cry.

"I'll help you." Hokuto said as her hope for him to say yes was skyrocketing.

"You will?" Naruto asked.

"Yes, give it time and soon you will be as good as me." Hokuto said as she held out her hand.

Naruto looked at her hand and into her eyes.

He loved her eyes. The left eye was like a ruby while the right was like obsidian. They were alluring to him. They showed trust and willingness to help.

Hokuto felt her heart jump for joy when he took her hand and he smiled.

"I'll keep trying."

Hokuto's mouth twitched and the edges of her mouth raised slightly into a small smile.

"I believe in you." Hokuto said as they returned to the table and continued drawing the beginner seals.

Unknown to the two children, a weasel masked individual who was hiding on the building nearby with binoculars watched them and saw what they were doing.

The masked character went through some hand signs and a small puff of smoke appeared and a small crow appeared. The master placed a scroll in the crow's mouth and it took off to give its message to the Hokage.

Skip, Two Years…

Hokuto, Age 7, laughed happily as she was chased by Naruto, Age 8, at the park, playing tag.

"Can't catch me Naru!" Hokuto joyfully proclaimed as she dodged his attempt at touching her arm.

She currently wore a modified kimono designed for her and it was loose enough for her to run. Her hair had grown slightly longer and she was barefoot. She refused to wear sandals at times when she did not need them. Over the two years Hokuto has opened up more to Naruto and eventually became that of a normal child her age.

Naruto growled with a grin as he missed.

He had gotten better at drawing seals, but had no idea what they did. All Hokuto would say is she would show him when they were older and it upset him. So today he proposed that if he was able to tag her three times she would tell him more about fuinjutsu.

So far Naruto had tagged her once and had only another hour before he ran out of time.

"I will get you." Naruto laughed out as he continued to chase Hokuto.

The Anbu watched the children play and smiled.

"Let's see if you can?" Hokuto said cheekily as she put her hands in a cross hand sign and three Shadow clones appeared and all four individuals ran together, tossed a smoke bomb and all scattered, confusing Naruto on who was the real one.

"Not impressed I can do that too." Naruto said as he summoned twelve Shadow clones.

As the twelve divided into groups of three Naruto's to hunt down one Hokuto, Itachi could not help but smile.

'I still can't believe Lord Third taught those kids the Shadow Clone jutsu.' Itachi thought as he watched the many clones chase their targeted Hokuto with little to no success.

Hiruzen had indeed taught them the jutsu, but he saw it as a means of tiring them out and as a way to study the seals as they were getting better as over the last two years, Hokuto had opened up to Naruto and was now acting her age of a young happy child. She had learned from Naruto as much as Naruto had learned from her.

As the children ran through the village the Anbu watched them and made sure they were safe.

After an hour, both children were exhausted, their clones popping, leaving the two tired. Naruto sat at the base of a tree and Hokuto placed her head on his stomach.

Naruto placed his hand in her hair and ran his hand through her hair.

Hokuto purred a bit and felt her eyes get heavy.

Naruto, who was finally catching his breath, heard soft snores.

He looked down and saw his cousin sleeping on his stomach.

Naruto smiled and continued to rub her hair. He leaned into the tree and closed his eyes.

Itachi watched as the two children were at peace.

Naruto and Itachi jumped when Hokuto suddenly started screaming. She grabbed her left cheek and curled into the fetal position and continued screaming in pain as a red vertical Big Dipper tattoo etched itself under her left eye and stretched to under her chin.

Itachi jumped from his spot and appeared next to the children, scaring Naruto.

In his fear from the sudden appearance of Itachi, Naruto grabbed a hold of Hokuto, making her scream more. As he tried to stand Naruto stopped and stood still.

Itachi frowned in confusion but his eyes widened in awe as he saw Hokuto's body.

In several places of her body, sharp bone spikes had sprouted from her shaking body and three of them were stabbing Naruto, one through his arm, one in his stomach and the last in his knee.

Blood leaked down the bone and onto Hokuto's skin and clothing as she continued screaming and writhing in pain.

Naruto, in pain himself, tightly wound his unhurt arm onto her shoulder and held her close.

"HOKUTO!"

Said girl's screams quieted quite a bit but her breathing was uneven and she shuddered and shivered.

"It's alright." Naruto said calmly as he rubbed her back. "It's going to be fine."

Itachi watched as the bones retracted and Hokuto passed out and blood erupted from Naruto's wounds causing him to pass out also.

Kage Office…

Hiruzen sighed as he did his paperwork.

'God, this is so boring.' He thought as he finished. 'Hope something happens soon.'

"LORD HOKAGE!"

Hiruzen entered serious mode from the tone of Voice Itachi had, however he raised an eyebrow from the blood on his Anbu uniform.

"What is it Itachi?" he asked.

"Naruto has been hospitalized." Itachi reported. "He and Hokuto were resting from their game of tag. Hokuto started screaming and I went to check on her, but when I did Naruto tried to run and when he touched her, bones sprouted out of her and stabbed Naruto three times."

Hiruzen's eyes were wide and then filled with dread.

Hospital, few hours later…

Hiruzen walked into Naruto's room and saw Hokuto in a chair, her clothes full of holes, with tears in her eyes as she looked at Naruto, who was on the bed sleeping.

He had just finished being under the knife in the surgery room and was sleeping from the anesthetic and had an oxygen mask on his face.

"Hokuto…"

Said child hiccupped as she looked up and saw her grandfather figure.

"I didn't mean to…" She coughed out as she cried harder.

Hiruzen wrapped her in a hug and patted her back.

"It's alright." He said soothingly. "But I need to know what happened. I heard that you started screaming and then lashed out."

Hokuto nodded into his stomach.

"I had a strange dream…" She said innocently. "I saw a giant fox in a sewer and he then sent some orange stuff out of a cage and it covered me and it hurt so much."

Hiruzen stiffened and looked at her and then the sleeping blonde.

'No way…' he thought. 'But the seal could not have weakened so much so soon.'

"Well, it might have been a dream." Hiruzen said reassuringly. "Might have been something from your mind pushing it into your dream."

"But what about this?" Hokuto asked as she held up her hand and a bone sprouted from it. "I could not do this before. Now I feel like I could have done it all my life."

'The Kyubi may have awakened and imprinted all information on this into her mind.' Hiruzen thought as he saw the bone grow, then shrink, then grow again before fully vanishing into her body.

"Well it seems you are more special." Hiruzen said with a smile. "You are good a seals at such a young age and now you have a kekkai genkai. A powerful one at that I believe."

"Old man…" Hokuto whispered, having ignored his praise. "Am I a monster?"

"No you aren't."

"But I hurt Naruto."

"It was an accident." Hiruzen answered. "I don't think he is mad at all."

"H..how could I… be mad at my only… family." A weak voice said, drawing the attention of the two.

Naruto looked at them, a weak smile under the mask.

"NARUTO!" Hokuto yelled as she jumped onto the bed and hugged him, causing him to flinch when she grabbed his hurt arm. "I'm so sorry! I did not mean to do it! Please forgive me?"

She felt a hand on the back on her head pull her into his neck.

"All is forgiven…." Naruto whispered, smiling more as he ran his hand through her hair. "You are my beloved cousin. I'll never push you away."

Hokuto gripped his hospital gown hard and started crying into his neck.

"I love you Naruto." She said as she cried.

"I love you too, Hokuto." He said as he continued to hold her and pet her head.

Skip, one week later…

Hokuto sat on a chair next to Naruto cutting an apple.

"You don't need to babysit me Hokuto."

Said child looked at her cousin who was lying in the hospital bed.

"If I didn't then you would have snuck out the moment you woke up." Hokuto said sternly as she finished cutting the apple.

Naruto blushed from embarrassment from seeing her lean forward and offer him a piece of apple.

"How is your cheek doing?" Naruto asked before he took the apple in his mouth and started to chew it.

Hokuto touched her cheek and smiled.

"It doesn't hurt." She said.

"What caused you to freak out that way?" Naruto asked.

Hokuto said nothing as she just smiled and ate a piece of apple herself. However, despite her calm features, Hokuto was in turmoil.

"Hoku…" Naruto started to ask when she stood up suddenly, the plate of apple slices dropping to the floor, shattering upon impact.

She moved to the bed and jumped up and sat on the edge before sidling over and lying next to him.

"Naru…" Hokuto said into the pillow. "You love me right?"

Naruto blinked, confused.

"I will always love you Hokuto." Naruto said bashfully. "Yes you hurt me last week, but I forgive you. You are the only family I have so I will never leave you. You… you are everything to me."

Hokuto felt her heart flutter and butterflies erupt in her stomach.

"Naru…"

Naruto placed his head on the pillow and looked into her heterochromatic eyes.

"I saw the kyubi…" She whispered.

That Night, Hokage's Office…

'Bone kekkai genkai…. Bone….bone….' Hiruzen thought as he looked through scrolls on the known Kekkai Genkai from Konoha and other villages.

A knock at the door interrupted Hiruzen's thoughts.

"Come in."

The door opened and in walked Danzo Shimura, Hiruzen's childhood friend, teammate, and current one of the three Elder Advisors to Hiruzen and the Shinobi Council.

"Evening Hiruzen." He said as he walked in and closed the door. "I heard about the incident with the Jinchuriki. Is the boy alright?"

Hiruzen had a look of inquisitiveness.

'What are you playing at Danzo?' he thought before looking at the scrolls, continuing his search.

"Yes, Naruto is fine. Hokuto is also fine." He said as he rolled up the scroll and opened a new one.

"What has you looking through those, if I may ask?" Danzo said as he made his way to a chair and sat in it.

"Well, as you know, Hokuto injured Naruto, but what I kept from the public was she awakened a Bone Kekkai Genkai." Hiruzen said as he looked through the scroll. "I'm trying to figure out what it is called so I can assign someone to teach her how to control her power."

Danzo was intrigued.

"I could teach her."

"Like with Naruto, I'm going to say no." Hiruzen said not missing a beat. "She is a young child and deserves a childhood. I won't let you turn her into a mindless puppet."

"Please listen to reason Hiruzen." Danzo said slightly aggressively. "I can understand the boy, but if that girl is found out by other villages then we might have another Hyuga incident again. Give her to me and she will be a fine Shinobi."

Hiruzen glared at Danzo.

"You want her for your ROOT Danzo."

Danzo stiffened.

"I remember disbanding that years ago." Hiruzen stated sternly. "Yet you kept it running behind my back. And so you lost my trust, so no, you will not train Hokuto Uzumaki. And if I find out you made contact with her then you will face consequences."

The room was flooded with Hiruzen's KI as he stared down Danzo.

Danzo gripped his cane and fired off his own KI to stabilize the room.

"Then let me ask you if I could extract her blood to see if we can replicate this Kekkai Genkai."

"I won't let that happen either Danzo." Hiruzen said angrily. "Yes you were able to recreate the Wood Style in Tenzo, but it cost so many lives of innocent children."

Danzo grit his teeth.

"Then I recommend we have her kept away from the public eye and away from the boy. He does not even need a companion as he survived six years alone." Danzo said, grasping at straws to get Hokuto.

Outside the door, Hokuto listened in and was wide eyed at what she had heard. Deciding to not listen anymore she ran from the hall and back to the hospital.

Naruto's Room…

Hokuto grabbed onto Naruto's arm as she told Naruto what she heard.

"NO!" he screamed holding onto her tightly. "I don't want to lose you."

"I don't want to leave you either." Hokuto said as they held each other.

"Why would that man want to take you away from me?" Naruto asked.

"I don't know, but he seemed mean."

"I want that man to disappear."

Hokuto's eyes widened when he said that.

'Disappear… disappear….'

Her pupils dilated as that word echoed in her head and her red tattoo glowed faintly.

She moved her arms around Naruto's head and pulled him into her chest and stroked his hair.

"Don't worry Naruto." She said calmly. "I won't leave you. He won't take me away."

Naruto smiled and snuggled into her embrace.

"Thank you Hokuto."

She smiled and waited patiently for Naruto to fall asleep.

As soon as he was sleeping soundly, Hokuto placed him down and pulled the blanket over him.

"I'll be back, Naruto." She whispered in his ear before opening the window and leaping out of it.

ROOT HQ, Midnight….

Danzo walked into his office.

'Damn Hiruzen. Not taking best care of our weapons.' He thought as he closed his door and turned to his desk, seeing a package on it.

'Suspicious…' he thought as he walked over and carefully opened it.

Danzo did not flinch when he saw a bloody disembodied head with a Root Anbu mask with a note on it inside the box. He reached in and opened the note.

Don't look up.

Danzo looked up and immediately felt pain in his spine as he toppled over with a long sharp bone spike cutting the nerves to his legs, crippling him.

"Try to take me away from Naruto…"

Danzo looked to his left as he tried to get up and saw a blood soaked Hokuto. She had a smile on her face that did not show happiness but pure sadistic, murderous thoughts.

"And that requires the death penalty." She said as she stood up and walked towards Danzo. She held her hand out to the side and six bone spikes came out of her forearm, three on top and three on the bottom.

"I won't allow this!" Danzo screamed. "GUARDS!"

Nothing happened as Hokuto continued her walk with no trouble. She stood above him, her arm pulled back.

"I hope you see those you sacrificed in hell." She said before thrusting her arm forward and stabbed him in the throat and chest. The bones grew rigid and sprouted more bones and soon Danzo's body was nothing more than a pile of blood, flesh, and bone.

Hokuto giggled as she retracted the bone spikes and kicked his right arm to the side and heard a metallic clunk noise.

Being the curious seven year old she was, Hokuto walked over to it and saw it was a very pale peach/white skin and it had several red eyes with tomoe around the pupils. Around the hand were three gold clasps that had internal seals from what she could tell looking at it.

"Wow this is so cool." She said amused as she poked them.

Hokuto felt her chakra drain when she touched the skin of the arm.

'That is strange…' she thought as she grabbed the arm by the rings and started to swing it around, spraying blood around the room.

Hokuto put her finger on her chin as she looked at the arm in her hand.

'Arms aren't supposed to be like this…. Or are they?' Hokuto thought.

An idea crept into her mind.

"Gramps would love to see this…" She said with an estranged smile.

Forming a thin, sharp bone spike, and then removing the dead man's tattered shirt, Hokuto wrapped the arm carefully, not wanting her chakra stolen by it, and transformed herself to look like she did not have blood all over her and left the area out the front door.

Hokuto walked into the Hokage's office, seeing the old Kage look up as he was about to go home.

"Hokuto? What are you doing here? It's late and you should be in bed." Hiruzen said wisely as he walked over to her. "Come with me, I'll take you home."

"But I have something to show you gramps." Hokuto whined as she showed the 'package' to Hiruzen.

(sigh) "Okay, show me what you want to show me." Hiruzen said tiredly and felt his mind get hazy.

However he immediately was on alert when he saw Hokuto go from being clean holding a package to seeing her covered in blood holding a severed arm.

"See this?" she asked innocently. "That mean mummy had it on him and I wanted to ask if human arms are normally like this?"

Hiruzen heard 'Mummy' and immediately thought of Danzo.

"Where did you find this?" He asked as he watched the seven year old think on her answer, finger on her chin.

"It was on him here." Hokuto answered as she pointed to her shoulder.

Hiruzen's breath hitched as he heard this.

"May I see the arm?" He asked, getting the limb from the smiling child. "Why are you covered in blood?"

"I had to play with one of his friends before he showed up and then I played with him and took this from him when he could not play anymore." Hokuto answered.

"Why were you with Danzo?"

Hokuto's childish innocence vanished the moment he asked that. Her eyes narrowed and were cold. A sadistic smile appeared on her face, maliciousness oozed from that look and it terrified Hiruzen that a child would have this look.

"Because he tried to take me from Naruto." She said before yawning, the malice vanishing. "Gramps, I'm really tired. I'm going home."

As soon as she said that, Hiruzen applied a sleeping Genjutsu on the child and caught her.

'What has she done?' he asked himself as he placed the arm on the floor and shunshinned to a secure location.

Chapter 1, DONE!

Yeah….

Fans of Corpse Princess might hate me.

Hokuto is from Corpse Princess, thus we used her in this story and have taken creative liberties with her for the long run. If you want an idea on how messed up she is, think of the fusion of Himiko Toga from My Hero Academia and Yuno Gasai from The Future Diary. They are messed up people so they work well with how we want Hokuto to be.

Thanks for reading, and if you liked please leave a review. If you liked this, you may like my other work on my Bio page so why don't you give them a shot.
