It had happened almost without warning and even then, it had taken Sakura almost completely by surprise. All she'd done was ask Souta to bring her coffee. In fact, come to think of it, she hadn't even asked him to do that. He'd done it himself.
She'd reached for the cup and he'd stopped her, taking her hand for a moment in his own. She stated at him for a moment before he leaned over and pressed his lips to hers.
Her face was so red, she looked like a tomato with black hair and eyes, but she responded eagerly, almost desperate for someone's attention. Chief would never notice her anyway, and her embarrassment quickly faded to admiration and affection.
Souta's fingers rain through her hair, his grip on her tightening. She tasted like warm spices and smelled like white cherry blossoms and he wanted to drown in it all, savoring every moment. She felt so warm against him and for the first time in a long time, Souta's heart soared.
Suddenly, she broke the kiss and gently pushed him away. Her face was still red from surprised and she looked like he'd just pinched her but or something rude like that.
"I'm sorry, Souta-kun." She murmured, softly, picking up her cup. "I'm sorry…." She turned and left him sitting alone in the salon, her face still red.
Once she returned to her room, she cradled the coffee mug to her and smiled.
Did that just happen?
