Quick note: This is another one of my old half-finished fanfics I randomly found from a long time ago in my computer. All I did was edit this a little so it most likely won't be as good as what I can write now (at least I hope I can write better than this), so keep that in mind please. This takes place one day after the fireworks at Ami's villa (yes I know they went home that day, but let's pretend they went home the day after). One last thing, I haven't actually seen the series in about a year so prepare for any OOCness (OOC=out of character).
"Hello?" My voice sounded as I answered the phone.
"Ami," a rough voice on the other end started, "It's time for you to go home." I recognized him – he was my father.
"Why?" I desperately asked. I already told my mom that I was fine and that I had decided to stay here.
"I heard you resolved the problem with the stalker. Isn't that why you left in the first place? You can come home now." His gruff voice was more demanding than sympathetic.
"Mother told me that I could stay longer if I wanted to." I protested. I know that I probably sounded a little selfish, but I couldn't help it.
"Why do you want to stay so badly in a town like that?" My father questioned, his voice was still demanding, but it now had a pang of curiosity to it.
"I finally have friends." I strictly told him. My face turned red at the words, but I could take a little bit of embarrassment if it meant staying longer.
"You have friends back home." He sternly told me.
"Not like this." I protested. I decided that I was staying and that was that.
"Fine." My father said after a long silence. "I'll let you stay a little longer for now, but we'll talk about this later."
"Wait-" I started to call, but it was too late as he had hung up already. "Come on!" I threw my phone onto my bed and stormed out into the living room.
"Are you okay?" Ryuuji called from the kitchen. Had he seen me?
"Shut up," I snapped back. I really wasn't in the mood.
"Kawashima I think I might have something that might cheer you up," He told me sounding pretty excited, or did he sound scared?
"What?" I demanded. If he was going to try some stupid stunt I was going to let him have it.
"Just close your eyes and sit down on the ground," He looked a little worried about his plan now. Was he having doubts?
"Fine. You better not doing anything to me," I roughly told him. I didn't have any real reason to mistrust him so I slowly closed my eyes as I sat down on the floor. I felt stupid doing this. I don't think he would try anything too bad, but that obnoxious girl was always around him. I could hear him walk behind me and then sit down. What was this guy doing? He slowly reached forward and wrapped his arms around me from behind. What was he doing?! I swiftly opened my eyes and lifted up my head. Above me was an innocent, apologizing smile.
"Sorry," He apologized. "I figured this was the next best thing to that place in between the vending machines." My mouth slowly formed a smile and I relaxed a little. His embrace felt livelier and more protective than that of the vending machines. Even his heartbeat kind of reminded me of the rhythm because it was going so fast, though I can't say mine was going any slower being in a situation like this.
"It's fine," I reassured him. He was always thinking of others, no matter who they might be.
