The Accident

Petunia rolls her eyes as she listens to the arguments coming from her and Lily's room as she heads up the stairs.Lily and her boyfriend James had come home for Christmas break. Why is she even with him? They argue a lot. She shakes her head shifting the dirty clothes hamper from one side to the other. She enters the guest room first, picking up James's dirty clothes. Ugh! Next time she can do this. He's a slob.

"You know what James? If you can't respect her why did you come?"Lily clutches her cat to her chest.
"Respect that thing! It nearly took my hand off when I tried to pet it!" James face flushes red.
"She would never!"Lily places the cat on her bed.
"Bull! She did! I have the scratches to prove it!"
"You probably did something to her then! She didn't have a problem with you at Hogwarts!"Lily's hand ball into fist and rest on her hip.
"I didn't!" The cat suddenly jumps on to the dresser then on to James's head. "Ow! Get this bloody thing off me !" He attempts to pull the cat off but the cat only clutches tighter.
"Oh! Come here Midnight. Get off James please."She grabs James by the shoulder and gentle pulls the cat off him.
"That bloody thing has it in for me. I know it!" James glares at Midnight that's in Lily's arm. He could have swore that cat just shot him a smug look.
"Oh come off it. She just not use to you being here. "
"Yeah right. I'll get you cat. Just you wait."James mutters under his breath.
"What was that?"Lily pulls out her wand holding it towards James.
"N-n-nothing Lily Flower. How about you put that wand away now dear?"
"Tell me what you say Potter."
"I was just commenting how beautiful you are?"
The door creeks open and Petunia walks in just as Lily cast a full body-bind curse on James. It hits her instead and Lily freaks out.
"Oh Petunia! I'm sorry. Give me a minute. I'll take it off of you. I'm so sorry. "Lily blubbers as she preforms the counter-curse.
"S-s-stay away from me, you you freak!"Petunia shouts and runs out of the room. Lily watches her sister run out the door with tears streaking down her cheeks.
"Give her time. She's just upset."James wraps his arms around Lily. "She didn't mean it, love."
Lily rest her head in between James's shoulder and neck,crying, hoping and praying he was right but knowing deep down in her heart and soul that it would take years for her sister to forgive her.
