CRASH

The vase hit the wall, shattering at impact.

"Arthur-" said man turned his attention to his black-haired companion

"Shut up Merlin!" the younger male sighed.

"Please, you aren't making anything any better-"

"No one can make anything better!":

The black haired boy sighed and reached towards his blonde haired friend, narrowing his eyes as his hand was hit away."Arthur, calm down right n-"

"How can you be so calm!" this shout caused Merlin to pause

"You're fucking dying Merlin! It's not gonna go away and you keep on acting like it's nothing! We don't know where this came from, what do you expect me to do!Do you expect me to just stand back while you're burned to the stake?!Do you expect me not to try to do anything to save you?!Merlin, you only have a day left,at dawn you're going to be killed by my father because he can't stand the idea of someone having more power than him!How am I fucking supposed to feel,Merlin?!How the FUCK am I supposed to feel about this?!"

The blonde man grabbed the bars of his manserv-friend's cell,as the black haired warlock came forward and sighed, putting his hand on his friend's."I don't want to leave you, trust me,but one day, when you're king,no one will have to go through one will have to feel as we do;they could have a better Arthur, harming or saying anything against the king could stop that from happening, please just make sure that Albion comes to pass;make sure that every warlock or mage or-or whoever wants to do magic can,can do it without worry, can do it ,please,as my friend, please grant my last request."

Tears welled up in the blonde man's eyes."Merlin-please...please don't leave me…" he trailed off helplessly, grabbing Merlin's hand and holding it tight."I have to,it's my duty…" Merlin grabbed the prince through the bars and held him in a farewell hug,not made awkward by the pieces of metal digging into them slowly parted and Merlin wiped Arthur's tears away, then gave a teary smile of his own."Maybe one day-maybe one day this will be looked upon as a time of legend and people will wonder if it was ever true."The prince of Camelot nodded at his friend, seeing the hug and words from Merlin as they truly were;a last goodbye.

And later, even as the flames on the wooden pyre burned him, melted his flesh;he smiled because he knew Avalon would come to knowing, however, how true his words from the other night would ring true;they were remembered as a legend, and as the story was skewered, people wondered if it was really true,or just a Fairy then blue eyes opened to see the face of a blue-skinned creature, one that held him tightly in his arms, and the mischievous warlock was born anew.
